They were probably laughing at the offer that the club put to them.

We have the room to give Murphy exactly what he's worth: ~500-550k a year.

If he stays I will buy him as much Felafel as he wants.

A poster on BF reckons that a text from Murphy's EX girlfriend says that he is going to GWS. The club has tried to keep him even offering her things (why would they offer an EX anything) but he is keen on the move.
BF is often BS but they did mention Essendon* being interested before the journo' mentioned them.
Seriously, does anyone here have any information at all as the where negotiations are at?
We just cannot afford to lose him.

Congratulations.

You just discovered the source of at least 80% of football journalism "stories".

FFS.

You've answer your own question. It's BS.

Journos read BF with regularity, it's probably why they think the general public are dim-witted.

I want to keep Murph as much as any Carlton fan but would not want to see us bent over the back of a wagon. I think our midfield is in very good hands. We have Curnow and Ellard coming through and they both look like really good players who could equal if not eclipse Murph if they have to step into his spot. At this stage it would be more crippling to see Jamo go. I think we should make a play for Murph but the longer this saga goes on the more it feels like the Ablett scenario of last year. If he does go and we pick up a first rounder, then we have the mids to cover him and hopefully we get a KPP for the long haul.

LOL, Ellard and Curnow are not and will never be better than Murphy.

I don't pretend to know any inside info, unlike some posters. I just use commonsense.

Commonsense tells me he is just waiting for the collective bargaining agreement on player wages to be finalised.
He will then see how much bigger the pie is. Good business sense.

Why would he want to go to a team that will struggle for 3-4-5 years, he's already been through that.

i will bend over in front of Freddy Mercury and Rock Hudson if he leaves

Fact: my brother had lunch with Stuka & Silvagni last week, both men are recruiting players to the GWS & my brother asked the question to Stuka 'what's the go with Murphy' Stuka's reply 'he's too entrenched in Carlton, he's a Carlton person & is going nowhere!'

Murph will be a one club premiership player, apart from Hamil, not too many Carlton players have ever left our great club for money!

Like we're gonna let the smurph go....seriously guys think about it!

Non carlton related, but SOS was spotted in the crowd at a Fitzroy stars game, scouting Andrew Lovett....only Sheedy would be dumb enough to give him another shot
