Walker is one player who works hard to make space.

I noticed when Russel played that he was a wide open option at about CHB on one occassion with tons of space in front of him and he got overlooked for a boundary line pass to a contest. Turnover. It was either Stevo or Campo with the pill looking for options.

I thought then, he's not part of the clique.

I agree. Hence my post. It gets a little annoying having Synbad tell everyone they know nothing about football, are clueless etc etc.... attack the post not the posters.

Wot chief said...

and the problem under discussion ie: senior players ignoring better positioned junior players has been in evidence for a copuld of years.

They need a good kick up the bum for a reality check.

Blame Adam Bentick, he is the one who gets the ball and feeds it to them

I must admit the waiting game is a very annoying one. Walker has had a few OK games but his year is a true case of the "second year" blues.

Would love to revisit this thread in a couple years time and be proved wrong.

However, at the moment, I made a simple observation that Walker's kicking is flawed. I would hazard a guess that 50 % of his drop punts do not spin like a drop punt should. He kicks mongrels, plain and simple.

And he's a mongrel kick on his left as well :!:

No question his kicking in AFL matches is not the best. But have a look at his kicking at training and you will observe that there is nothing wrong with his technique. The problem, as I implied, appears to me to be one relating to confidence (in relation to lack of support from team mates and in particular the senior players who don't give him any), something which is a plague in this team.

He works incredibly hard on field to make good position only to get overlooked or ignored by guys like Campo. This is hardly going to build his confidence. He is probably trying too hard at times, doesn't steady in the stride before he kicks. I don't think it's a problem, it will improve over time.

I have no need to share my football credentials with you.

Because you have racked up a lot of posts on the internet really doesn't impress me, I'm afraid.

I have no intention of getting into a p*ssing contest with you and comparing who has been involved with or knows more about the game, as I am comfortable with my knowledge and place in the game. It appears you feel some sort of inadequacy though ... oh well, you're the one who has to wake up everyday and deal with it so fair enough.

All I'd say Matador is that kids like Walker need 3 years. Minimum. He showed in that first game that he is not just an athlete, for mine he has shown glimpses in a few games. As yet he has not taken a game apart but it will happen.

Welcome aboard Matador. It's always good to get varied opinions, whether they are right or wrong...

You're lucky you haven't mentioned things like " I support Campo" or "Elliot was the best president ever" otherwise you'd really see Synbad's ugly side

Watch Walker play at VFL level and you can see he's a class above most of those guys, and his disposal is very good at that level as well. Not getting any assistance from teammates will cause erratic disposal as you feel like you're under pressure whenever you get the ball.

Right on the mark "Bax", Synbad I visit this site like most to keep up with news relating to the club we love, however your respones to some becasue they have a different view is pathetic.

When you focus on the ball and not the man you actually make sense at times and I agree with SOME of your opinions and thoughts however you lose credibility when you attack others because they don't agree with you.

Your knowledge of the game is non descript because if you looked at Luke Ball at the same age as Walker youd find he sprayed them as well?
Because it takes kids a couple of years to get the hang of the speed of the game...and coming from the TAC into a shithouse football side means theyre going to struggle....

Yeah i know you wouldnt get into a pissing competition with me cos you sit down when you piss....so youd lose...
