If the answer is no then is Fev playing whilst injured solely to get the dough?

Well they should, why wouldn't they? Fev is an employee who if doesn't work because of illness etc still gets paid for it.

I find it interesting that Whits played most of last year with a pretty bad knee injury that clearly hampered his movement and yet he got slammed for his performance, I think someone even called him a 'traitor'. While Fev who has a notorious attitude problem is praised for being 'gutsy' for playing with his aductor injury.

Go figure.

I didn't realise Whitnall was carrying an injury. He's also 8th in the league for marks...only three behind 6th.

Last season he was still having issues with his knee injury. It was rtecommended by the medical staff that he miss some games to let it settle. But he, like most footballers wanted to play.

Ooops. I didn't read the last year bit. Also had a bruised bone in his foot at the end of last year. Bloody traitor!

Fev misses 50 by 1 goal. :( and, who's going to play on Rocca? :(

Fev probably felt extra-obligated because of his generous contract renewal and wanted to stay out on the park. Even blind Freddy could see he was far from being 100%. Couldn't kick like normal and lost that burst on the lead. If the coaching and medical staff were right on the ball they would have rested Fev weeks ago when we had nothing to play for and the injury was clearly hampering Fev, ala filth and dawks.

Finally common sense prevails!!

Should have been rested at least a month ago, as this would have given him more time to launch into a big preseason. Resting him now may mean that his preseason is not as good as it could have been had the MC rested him when they should of.

Fevs decision to play on whilst clearly injured is a bit of a double edged sword. On the one hand you could say he is being gutsy whereas on the other you could say its irresponsible. I tend to lean more to the irresponsible side. This is because he is our 'marquee' player and playing on through injury increases the likelihood of the injury becomming significantly worse, thus having a major impact on the team.

I think DP and the MC have known that he was injured but it helped with the tactic of using him as a decoy forward. But Ess was aware of that which is why Richards was played on him.

Fev was playing on sheer guts alone.

I agree Synbad.

I kinda agree and dissagree....

I think the reason that Fevs played untill now is that he wanted to get to 100 games for the Carlton football club. That simple...

Now he has achieved his goal of having his name under Jezza's.

You see the ofseason has no guarantee's...

Heck you could be hit by a car and never play footy again.

Just goes to show how mentally soft this guy is in not being able to play through an injury. Play's really unaccountable football, doesn't chase, poor body language when beaten, huge salary, huge ego, doesn't follow team plan, doesn't listen to the coach, no leadership for senior player.....oops, sorry mate I thought we were talking about Campo/Kouta/Whitnall...

Pagan just giving the press some PC quotes. Blind Freddy could see he has been restricted for 2 months or more.

Bang Sinbagger nails it! Fev has been really consistent these last 2 years -a reasonable first half followed by an atrocious second half.

I think Fev has had a shocker of a year. 49 goals is not an accurate assement of Fevs year. He played far worse than that. He hasnt strung two good games togwether all year and after a blinder of a WOK we were all expecting big things from him. This pressure along with Fevs immaturity and groin injury and then add on the complete non existence of our midfield it was really no suprise Fev has had a shocker.

Once he gets some above average delivey he will kick 80 goals no problrem. It has been said time after time but one more wont hurt - If he played for West Coast or the Crows he would be 100plus goal kicker. Expect big things from him next year. Seems to work well with Whitnall but Waite plays better when fev aint playin. Strange as youd hink it would be the opposite.

I think the problem is that they don't kick it to Waite when Fev plays. He said that in the first Hawks game when Fev was out.

So why didn't Blind Freddy rest him and get him physically right?
