Campo is a soft receiver and shows NO leadership.

I thought he showed leadership at half time on Sun when we were 70 points down. I didn't see anything from our real supposed leader.

I'd be sorry to see Lance go. It was his birthday yesterday. He turned 26. I think he's about the only one to show real leadership & would like to see him made captain if he stays. I don't know that I can see anyone else as captaincy material at the moment including our current captain, who's there by default I'd say.

Sounds like we're doing a Hawthorn & in for another poor season next year & might have to hope they don't change the PP system!

Just on the problem of not meeting 92.5% of your salary cap.

If this is a problem the simple way to fix it is to renegotiate a couple of contracts with players to "front-load" them.

You call Fev into the office and say,

"Fev, we'd like to pay you the $400K for your third season now. So that you don't spend it and bitch about it in a couple of years we'll put it in a trust fund so it earns interest for you as well. At 6% compounding you'll end up with about $450K. Sweet? Great. Now go out there and have a groin massage son."

The beauty of this is that you then free up even more space to chase players and increase contracts for improving players over the following years.

Well, assuming that info is correct, one of those three WILL be staying. Pretty easy to work out which two won't be.

Wouldnt like to lose Lappin but three years seems excessive...
Campo ..no way 2 years at 400K....he can walk.
Lance....if other clubs are interested then I would trade for the best deal..I think Lance needs to move on for his own career if nothing else.

Kouta...been great but thats a lot of dough and i reckon he needs to repay the club for setting him up for life by offering to take a pay cut...

re: Brown...600K a year..done..where do I sign....if Brisbane had not played him as a midfielder in a desperate attempt to make the eight he might still be on the park....

Now Tyrant you've never seen me in person - when the sun shines just so, and I wiggle my bum thus, well all I can say is you'd want it, you know you would, you know.....

hypothetical situation: campo, lappin, and the brain are traded, kouta retires. Carlton draft a young go getter who has been a blues supporter since childhood.

TV Reporter: "well young man you must be super excited to now be playing for the team you supported as a kid?"

Go getter: " gee, yeah i've been barracking for Carlton as long as i remember and it's so surreal to be playing here now. I've still got posters of kouta and diesel in my bedroom and now i get to come down here and rub shoulders with Carlton greats like um, err.... like Heath Scotland."

Will make French our oldest player (30). Mcgrath will be next (27). Will have no one on vets list.

Stevens will have played the most games (168) followed by Houlihan (113- for those who want to keep him) & French (112).

Yes but the credibility is there - Murphy Beaumont & Allan apparently have made good contributions to their new clubs. :garthp:

Thats just Larry Abrahamsonsonson.. trying to make up a point.
BTW he has no clue.. i spoke to a players mates mates and he said.. blah blah blah..
Who the hell cares if Campo doesnt like Denis??

We all knew that!!!

Campo wouldnt have a problem if we paid him what he wants.

Lappin didnt have a problem playing good football before his contract season..

Lance needs a change.. we all know that!!!

Larry thinks Ratten McKay and Co would still be playing footy.. anyone know how old these blokes would be today??
Larry is pissed off with the club because he doesnt get as good seats at Telstra with his silver membership tickets as the possie he got at Optus.. because "Buying 2 MCC memberships is expensive!!"

Priorities Larry..priorities...

PS he always said O`Donnell is the man to coach us and he is sticking to it...!!!

*Whats O`Donnell done in football coaching terms so far???

Sets a dangerous precedent.................Dont need blood suckers around the club...

We have a few of those..

Sure Synbad and you can add Fev to that list. As far as precedents are concerned the board set one with Fev's contract.

also synbad wrote "The other thing is our players are ONLY interested in the money and have been.... " geez your not whistling dixie here my friend and Fev's performance on & off the field whilst his contract negotiations were stalling was disgraceful.

except Rod in fev's defence for the club he is the one that puts in. Need a kid visited - fev will do it. Need someone to be interviewed - fev will do it. fair dinkum the staff down there genuinely like him because he makes them feel part of it all. Fev is a big + around that place. Or so they tell me anyway.

True Danny, Fev does a lot of the little things around the place that make a difference. Fev went out of his way last year to show BMjnr around the club. Spent a couple of hours with him, had a kick of the footy, took him in for a chat with Dennis, gave him a signed game jumper etc. Brilliant stuff.
