It may be the end of his carear at the blues but I hope it isnt the end of his AFL carear, he doesnt desereve to bow out under these circumstances. If he goes we might get a 3rd rounder for him if were lucky.

I thought he gave up in Round 2 against the bummers. Has been at least consistent since (Lack of effort that is)

Lappin has done the Beaumont, i know people give Beaumont shit but he was great in 1999 and 2002 and was under the pump after 2001 playing at the back with no help. I think like Beaumont just gave up after losing all the time nearly every week busting a gut for years, probably thought the club is back to where it was 2002 and has more years of struggling before they became good, so wants at least 3 years with the club as he feels he will be the scapegoat, the cause if he doesn't do most of the work.

Think Lappin deserves a lot more respect than the crap being spewed here. Been a great servant of the club and accusations of him not trying because of contract issues are quite disgraceful coming from Carlton supporters.

So he deserves a three year contract?

Do you remember the rigmarole he put us through last time and the threats to leave us for Richmond? Sure he never did go through with it, but he's not getting my loyalty after that

Who said he deserves a three year contract pj?

If you read my posts on this topic I've said all along that you generally don't give 3-year contracts to 29/30 year olds and we shouldn't make an exception here. I can see where the club is coming from and I reckon it's fair enough.

However, some of the stuff said about Lappin in my opinion is unfair and as I said earlier I'm surprised at the rate at which people seem to have 'turned' on him.

He doesn't deserve the accusations of not trying.

His body language would suggest that he doesn't give a stuff.

Granted it was the end of the season, but he could at least look like he gave a damn.

Will probably get shipped off back to the Saints.

Did any of them look like they gave a damn? Should ship a few supporters off to the Saints.

No PJ because you are insulting the character of a player who has given his all for the club.

To me it's the exact opposite of Matty's, in that he seems to care too much and gets frustrated etc because the team's going so badly

The site is now full of body language experts now.

Tell me guys what did you think of Pete Sampras' body language when he was king of the tennis world?

No. He's offering an opinion on a player who is well paid to "give his all for the club".
Which I dont believe he has.

Matty Lappin has put in more short steps than anyone this year.
It's sad to see.

Just because half the so called supporters here wanted the team to not try doesn't mean they players actually listen to them.

Are people tired of canning Campo? Who is next on the 'Lets blame a Carlton great' list?
