Lance should be captain in 2006.

Has shown leadership on the field particularly in our poor games where our other senior players have not only showed poor leadership, but have been poor on the field fullstop in our poor games.

LW is 26 and ready for it.He may be slow and turn the ball over too much but still deserves the job because nobody else qualifies for the job.

The fact that Carlton has re-signed all there younger players and still not Lance seems to indicate that the club is considering Lances future. Therefore it would seem highly unlikely he would be made captain.

Not gonna happen obviously(Whitnall that is) but i would keep Kouta captain next year.
I wasnt overly impressed with Stevens' leadership qualities this year and I wouldnt reward him with the captaincy just yet. A year more under kouta then maybe Waite can take over.

Good suggestion, all we need to do now is wait and see which club he'll be playing for in 2006.

Meanies :-D

I have always been on the Lance for Captain wagon, but I think the time has passed him by.

personally I haven't been impressed with Kouta's captaincy skills, but I'm struggling to nominate any of the others, so I'd be happy for Kouta to continue for another year.

that is until I change my mind again! :P

Kouta is not captain material and has proved it.there is no risk having Whitnall as captain if he stays cause we couldnt get any worse.

I seriously agree with you. Unfortunately, he probably has not had enough senior exposure. YET. But don't worry folks, we have a dead set gun on our hands. In 2-3 years, this kid will be the perfect choice for the captaincy. He really is similar to ratten, and will marshall our midfield for years.

Agree manchester man.the point here that the captaincy is one area under review and it is almost certain that kouta wont be skipper next year.AB should be in a leadership group of sorts.

He'll be a year older
Ayear less capable
and a year less likely to make a difference.

Didn't move Bradley on early enough.
Macca the same
ratts ditto
All great players but they had played their time and are now finished.

Kouta is almost finished an off the bench player at best next year.

Yell and scream at me now but I hope you apologise when I get to say I told you.

A few weeks ago I remeber reading or hearing Kouta say unless he is asked to step down he wont.

Would be my choice also K.A natural leader who marshals the troops..
Also his onfield demeanour is great. No sooking,no whinging,no hissy fits.Never drops his head, and that says a lot about a bloke in my book.

And the same goes for young Bentick.Denis has given him a rough trot. But not a murmour out of the kid. This kid has got character written all over him.

Never thought I'd say this, but I support a rotating captain, one rotating throughout the season each two weeks, like the Swans have done. My five rotating captain candidates are Fisher, Waite, Bentick, Thornton and Simpson.

Never happen, but those senior blokes have shown zip leadership in the games this year.

Kouta and Lance will most likely finish top 3 in our B&F this year. Let's not write them off yet. Keep Kouta for captain next year and then appoint Lance after that. These other kids will get their turn one day when they are ready.
