"Fevola will resist any moves by the Blues to trade him"

That article by David Parkin recently seems to have legs.

'Errant' is an interesting adjective, like some of her articles.
So Stevo captain and Lance to more than likely to stay.....
Fev lives Bayside and is mates with Fraser so now he wants to play for the Saints, two plus two equals 100000.

I've seen Fev and the G around Brighton a few times - it happens with other players as well (N.Brown and Riewoldt) - is no reason for him to join the Saints. I would have thought they would be the last club he could go to (unless we pay for 80% of his contract).

Pretty lame article by Caro standards.

Did like this bit though:

"With Carlton president Ian Collins recovering in hospital for at least another five days from surgery to his broken leg, the restructure of the Blues' football department has been put on hold. Several pins were inserted two days ago below Collins' knee, following an accident while painting."

poor old Collo can't take a trick this year.

Also, Fevola barracked for St Kilda before being drafted by Carlton.

My view is that he earns "elite" players money in 2006 so we should judge him on 2006 performaonces. If he does not live up to the price tag then trade him for picks in the stronger draft depth wise next year.
Dean Laidley reckons Nick Thompson is the recruit of the year kicking 50 goals ...... it was 1 more goal than Fev :?

I'm interested in this bit...

...and the club is also reviewing all three of its assistant coaches, Tony Elshaug, Tony Liberatore and Barry Mitchell.

Trade speculation is always a bit hit and miss at this time of year, you just never know what might be around the corner. Fev needs to get his head right, Pagan seemed to make great early progress, but this seems to have plateaued for now. He's one of our better players when on song, I hope he stays ... even if its just so we may have a very tradeable commodity for the 2006 draft.

The Australian is also running with this story ... looks like a very busy month at the club.

similar article on Fev. If we get a high draft pick for him, it is definitely worth considering.

We'd be STUPID to trade Fev this year, so I'm glad that he'd veto any move to be traded this year.

I'm happy with 1, 4 and 20. Even if we got given picks 8 and 10 this year, I wouldn't trade him because with a thin draft there's every likelihood that long-term we'd be the losers out of that scenario.

But two first round picks in the 2006 draft? That'd be nice.

Thompson has had a good year and its not all about the goals he kicks..its the others that are created by him being there and being another target.
Barry Hall is clearly the best FF in the comp and his work ethic is about creating goals for others not just himself, inlcuding a record eight assists last week.
If we could get Fev to play in the same manner we would win a lot more games..I'm all for Fev staying, he has matchwinning talent and we are light on for matchwinners...

Seriously I wont be happy if we traded Fev. The credibilty of our club is really bad at the moment. Why would we sign someone to a 3 year contract and then contemplate doing something like this. Do they know what they are doing ? I really cant see them trading him, but even just giving him a rocket is bad publicity for the club. When oh when will we be stable again. My patience is really wearing thin. I really hope we dont keep Lance, Campo and Lappin. I am happy for Stevens to be captain though, he will offer so much more than Kouta.

Kouta has stated he still wants the captaincy.. but he wont have the captaincy next year......

Kouta cant be the captain next year because we need a group of kids to take us into the future together.. and Kouta cant promise is us that...

As that political logo said "It`s time"

Kouta has stated, at least twice, maybe three times on Fox Footy, that he would like to be captain next year, but is more than willing to hand it over if the Club wishes him to, as that would be the right thing to do. He has also said it won't be his decision, but he is prepared to go with whatever decision is made.

Of course he is cos he cant keep it if he hasnt got it...
Its not like he can say no and still be captain next year...

Bottom line is he has it.. wants it... but wont have it next year

Kouta, in an on-line interview about two months ago, endorsed Stevens as the next captain.

Kouta wants to be captain but is happy, willing, no bitterness, no bitching, completely mature, about handing over the captaincy if told he will not be captain next year.

I don't think Kouta wants it despite what he says in public. I don't think he wanted it in the first place.

Elwood it is also about delivery from the midfield.
