I'd like to make Karl Norman captain, just for the giggle-factor

Ok im here.. no way should Lance be captain...
Stevens will grow with the captaincy.. he has shown in the past what he is capable of in the leadership stakes.. iunfortunately he dwindled away with the official captaincy group work ethic.

He is one of the most professional players in the league and will show it next year.. (as captain)

Lances message will be "wake up late.. eat 4 pies with sauce for brekky... wash it down with a couple of beers.. put your tracky pants on start up the commodore.. put it into drive.. find the TAB of choice.. place a couple of quaddys on the horses/trots/dogs/chickens and lizards.. eat more pies.. drink more beer..(lights of course)... get a sick feeling in the guts that its been another one of those wasted days.. get all depresed.. go home and eat more pies cos youre depressed... get sent to a fat farm.. do this for a few years until youre trade bait.... wake up!!!... play in the hole... and then get captaincy????

You have to be kidding dont ya????

I really believe the captaincy issue is important. IMO Kouta has to go. I still feel he is valuable in the team but not as captain. He was never captaincy material. Stevens I'm not convinced about, Whitnall has had too many question marks over his future, Waite is not ready, Thornton no. So I agree with 79 on this one - we need to rotate it - there is no stand out and we cannot stick with Kouta for the sake of it!

Pick someone who will grow into the role. Develop the other young potentials with leadership group roles.
I'm not a believer in rotating the captaincy whether it be fortnightly or annually.

Is it St.Kilda or Sydney that you guys are following? Sure they are playing finals and we're not, but neither of these teams have won a premiership for 39 years.

And are unlikely to win a premiership in the next ten years?

There seem to be a lot of thick heads on this site.

Firstly, Lance will be lucky to even BE at Carlton next year. That being the case, I don't think he can be Carlton captain whilst playing for another AFL team...

Secondly, in the very unlikely event that he IS at Carlton in 2006, why would you make a guy who was almost out the door the captain? A guy who is rumoured to have said he doesn't enjoy playing under Pagan? A guy who sets a shocking example to his teammates in the area of fitness?

Wake up!
