Either way the club decided to hold off to the end of the year and I reckon at least one of them will walk for nothing.

The club didnt decide to do that.
They were all offered contracts and none signed...

They were offered contracts... (Lappin and Campo straight after the Wizzer)

Lance about 2/3 to 3/4 of the season in.....

They just dont want to sign what theyre offered...

I hope Campo walks.. i really do!!!!.. just to put his career in neon lights....

Lappin i feel sorry for...

Lance has been overpaid for years and has finally got off his arse to do something.. (were hiding him on the field to make him look good).. and someone bit!!!!

Excellent news i reckon!!!!

I think clubs were more interested in a few of Lances performances up forward not his late season filling holes in defence roles.

Have you thought by not playing him in the forward line other clubs can think he could do better if put there????

See its all about perception..... everyone thinks in their structure someone else would do really well... and they have been played out of position ...and they only need to play them in position.....

The poster who talked about having an old codger turn up at work and tell him what to do was the funniest thing I've read in ages, and the closest to the mark so far. I honestly laughed for five minutes straight after reading the post. Excellent.

It's like a website for New Idea readers in here at the moment, which is not surprising given how weight concious many people are on here.

Glenn Manton was the most respectful player to have pulled on a Carlton jumper with his tapping of the photo thing, yet he's constantly derided on the internet.

The article in question is bollocks, pieced together with heresay and pious drivel. The bit about Fev putting up his hand after the bad body language comment is hilarious. I hope he did do that...funny stuff.

Looks like the firecracker up the backside thingy has done wonders.

He would do well at another side though synbad, he proved that in some of our better performances. Sydney game, Lions first half. Get the ball down there, put it to his advantage and he can do the job. Same with Fev.
Problem is we have a crap side, with crap disposal and a game plan that doesn't suit either Lance or Fev.

yes no place for respect far better to just make fun of anyone older than what 30?

I have no probs with fev making a comment like 'thats me' but I do have a porblem with the idea that if someone old came and spoke you would simply ignore him/her - sad really.

For a start I'm over 30

As for the respect to older people, personally I have a lot of time for older people, and I know they have a need to speak. It's something which drives most older people and is something important to them as their lives draw to an end.

Many people prefer not to listen to old people go on and on and on.

And when alcohol is involved, well, we all know what that means.

At the end of the day it's not been proven so far anyway.

:-D

The Game you cant be greedy to hold onto players that have taken us nowhere in the last four years.
Players that should have tried to hold the club together and were paid a fortune to do it.. but just didnt care enough.....
We need hungry footballers.. (not food hungry).. and players commited to the club and are willing to contribute in a way thats beneficial to where we are at now.....

Lance is 26 going on 33.. wont be playing footy in 4 years.
Now value in keeping him around cos were not in the finals in that time....

So why pay him big bucks???

The Game.. lets not get soft and sensitive with players that have forever been expert at putting their hands out but not up....!!!

Synbad, give us some good news..... Lets talk about positive stuff.... Heard anymore about Salopek or other potential trades. Any more goss about Marc Murphy.

all these negative things are really getting me down. we will have to wait to see what is happening with all these players we are debating about. 2 more weeks after this week, and we will know all and then move on.

The positive news Fevola is the leadership group is now old , washed up and at the end of their contracts....
Thats the best i can do......

Agree totally hes at his prime and struggling with the pace of the game, imagine in a few years!

We now know how far off St Kilda was back in our glory days. Lets hope we can rectify our problems sooner than St Kilda. Please trade Lance for Bartel/Goddard/ 1st rounder

synbad I reckon if Lance wants more dosh then he should look elsewhere but Lappins contract should have been done months ago.
Campo I can't see going anywhere.
Fev rumours I don't believe unless its from someone I trust not Caroline 'TV Week' Wilson.

Whitnall is worth $400k when he kicks 50+ goals at CHF and takes 130+ marks at CHF.

Fevola kicked less goals than Robbo, Milne and Williams. How can he possibly have an ego or attitude towards club legends? If he has maybe he should move in with Chad Cornes. :-D

Bring back Welshy i say to play full forward. Murphy playing with his coach would be magnificent.

Well, it's all up to the board now. The terrible three have put the ball back in the board's court.
They've called the club's bluff, Lance and Lappin especially. Campo's been backed into a corner because of lack of interest.
Who's gunna hold their nerve? Collo can't afford to be seen to back down now after all his talk about contracts and players taking what's on offer etc.
We'd lose even more credibility if we caved in and gave them what they want. It's how this mess started. Someone has to take a stand.
