The poster who talked about having an old codger turn up at work and tell him what to do was the funniest thing I've read in ages, and the closest to the mark so far. I honestly laughed for five minutes straight after reading the post. Excellent.

Thanks for feedback. Happy to please.

I think I'll put my left nut that fev will still be at carlton next year. I am not claiming to have any inside knowledge or anything, i just dont think carlton will get rid of a "YOUNG" key forward. I reckon pagan likes the idea of a forward line built around waite, fisher and fev. I think they are all important and can compliment eachother.

I know its not rocket science - but whitters is by far the more likely to go imo in a suitable trade.

....the little known Tigers's "petulent forward rule"...
The RFC at all times must retain a forward who thinks that their sh*t doesn't stink and is prepared to show same both on and off the field, whilst never applying defensive pressuer in the forward line...preferably this player should be a FS selection

Also a rumour going around is Bartel for Tarrant.

Cats obviously worried about losing him for nothing.Either way Geelong would have to have to rocks in their head to trade Bartel for a soft forward like Tarrant.

We are certainly very interested and we'd be a better team with him in it," Cameron said.

"He has a great football brain and if he falls out with Carlton we are here."

Whitnall is expected to remain at Optus Oval, but the Blues will be closer to his demands for $400,000 a year to retain him.

"As a centre half-forward and a key-position player, he deserves that sort of money," Cameron said.

This is beautiful stuff.
If Pagan and Collo can see this through, they could sell ice to the eskimos.

A man who has delivered jack shit for 2 and a half years and couldnt get a kick in the forwardline is suddenly "wonderforward".

When I read that article I couldn't believe it. I rubbed my eyes and re read it, and I still couldnt believe it....

The quote..."As a CHF and KPP he deserves that sort of money" was a standout for mine.... Shesh we were kidding ourselves rating Lance as a KPP, but this guy rates him as a KPP AND a CHF?!!

It seems we are not the only ones that are guilty of having delusions of grandeur.... but in this case the delusions could be very beneficial for the CFC, or at least lets hope so......

mmmm whats Melbournes first pick again? and they have a handy player in Rivers that might go OK in a blues guernsey as well :-D

I don't rate Rivers. He's found out in a one-on-one contest. He plays 3rd man well, but he's not particularly good in the contest, backs his ability to read the play.

Disposal is also quite poor. He will handball more often than kick and like Daniel Cross of the Dogs, this is because his kicking is not particularly great.

Risky proposition IMO.

Rivers was the Jason Cloke of 2004.

Whitnall under a different game plan will be awesome again. The fact Pagan doesn't like him and Whitnall doesn't fit within the game plan, doesn't mean the guy is shit.

IMHO, Western Bulldogs and Sydney should be knocking and knocking hard. He would turn the Swans with Hall & Goodes into a premiership side.

This bloke is hilarious. I thought he was talking about Pavlich or someone else. The only way his comments makes sense is if he is trying to get him to walk in the PSD and is talking up his price.
We do have first pick there and it would not seem to be in Lances nature to do that to the club anyway. If Melb value him so highly then lets hear there offer.

Lukewarm interest in Fev but Lance is a KPP worth 400k. GOLD.

As to what to do with Lance etc, well, it saddens me 'cos I know that all 3 will go somewhere else and blitz. But as Kenny pointed out, a stand has to be taken.

So we make a stand just like we did with Hamill those years ago. Players can't hold us over the coals. No sir ey. We will show them. Incidentally where have we been since we got rid of Hamill?

There is a Jim Wilson article in the Herald-Sun saying that Fevola is being shipped around with Richmond showing an interest.

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,16597174%255E20322,00.html

I have got to say that I don't understand why we are trying to get rid of our best players. Fev, Lance, Campo and Lappin are all top 10 players. Shouldn't we be getting rid of our bottom 10 players? Bowyer, Clarke, ... That should be the priority, unless of course they land us some highly prized draft picks. I don't want more recycleds. Just look who we have delisted already. There is a theme.

I agree completely with that. Amazes me as well. People reckon we need to improve our list - we do, but we need to ADD to what we already have. We have to keep turning over the players that simply aren't up to it, not trading away our better players.

Fair enuff CC, in retrospect Rivers was not such a good idea.

They have pick 12 as their first pick dont they? Wouldnt argue with getting that pick plus a player, maybe Brad Green?

To those querying Caroline Wilson's source for the Fev story - aside from the fact that people on this site (phoenix among others) had raised the issue before it hit the papers - you might want to ask where the journos were sitting that night.

Saw one in the Schoolbook Depository. Not sure if it was her that wrote the article. It may have been a mystery second journo on the grassy knowl? Not sure if we will ever know the answer to this one?

It was a leak.....

The media was meant to know....

Fev wont be going anywhere....

If after trade week Fev is gone for a couple of Richmond duds and an average pick ..Lance has been signed up for 400k... Campo and Lappin both on 400k 3 years....etc we can all go down to Optus and burn the place down....

But it wont happen.....

Whats important is straight after trade week and leading into draft week and beyond the Carlton football club begin saturating the papers with good and positive stories....

(like Lance was turfed out along with Campo and we now have the best kid in the country and and and....)

Dont panic.... you can bet your botom dollar Fev will stay and if he doesnt we will be happy with the return.....

But why were they meant to know?

What is the point of leaking the story?
