Synbad A person once told me if you say something often enough wether it be the truth or not you actually start to believe what you are saying.

Keep convincing yourself Synbad it must be terrible for you seeing all your rantings over the year fall apart right before your very eyes :(

honestly why would the club want to keep 4 out of the top 6 in its B&F and get rid of Bozo the clown it just doen't make sense.

If this is the case and the club did indeed leak it to the media, then that is pathetic.

We've recently "acquired" our second wooden spoon and at one of the lowest points in the history of our club. You'd think the club would be trying their best to avoid any negative publicity in the papers.

This just makes us look stupid if it is indeed true.

Perhaps what Josh said has some truth to it...i.e. they leaked the story to the media so the supporters wouldn't be so hard on the club if they traded him.

Interesting times ahead.

Comparing Fev to Lance. There contracts. Output. Character. 1 had a good season. 1 is erratic.
BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Pushes up Lance as a good citizen, good form, versatile and a reduced contract. Which at the end of the day is what we want. A good deal for him.
I could not care less what other people think of Fev just as long as he stays and gets himslef fit and ready to go next year.

If as Synbad says he is traded let it be for something top shelf otherwise tell them there dreamin.

Sydney.. i wouldnt care if im wrong if the club could turn themselves around.

Do you think those four can turn this club around?
If they could whats happened for the last 4 years.....

PS... ill be a Bozo by the end of this Sydney or you will....

Im buying you big shoes already....

I know Fev wont go.. i do know Lance will go....

What happens leading up to that is a bit weird but ill stick to what i have said all along....

And if im wrong you can howl me down.... but if im right... ill come looking for you after that comment....

Lance isnt staying... Campo wont get 400k x 3years... either will Lappin...and Fev will still be at the club for at least another year.. unless we get a high calibre trade...(which is fair enough)if we trade Fev for the betterment of this footy club we would be neglecting our duty to now do so....

But he will remain.....

And ill string you up from the nearest cyber tree in 3 ish weeks....

Campo Kouta Lappin and Lance offer nothing to this footy club thats why theyre all on minimal offers (well the ones that are out of contract anyway).....

PJ we need to rock the house up abit with our second wooden spoon... so we will ruffle some feathers.

Where we need to be positive is trade time and beyond.

Ive always said thats our Finals......

Once this has all blown over.. Denis will just put his arm around Fev and say "i love you Fev.. now go return the faith"

Fev can perform at the highest level... Lance isnt capable of it.....

I don't see how you can make some of these comments though.

You say that they offer us nothing. Did you see our top 6 in the best and fairest this season Synbad? Kouta won it, Lance third, Campo 4th etc etc. The players you want to get rid of all finished high up. The players you want to keep who apparently do offer us something have been around for years and how many times has any of them done anything of note, let alone finish in a respectable position in the Best and Fairest?

I can't see how you can say they offer us nothing but players like Sporn, Wiggins, Davies etc etc are nowhere to be seen in the voting. Why don't these blokes appear in the Best and Fairest? Because frankly it is they that have been offering nothing, or at least nowhere near enough.

I said earlier in the season that I wouldn't be disappointed if Kouta retired after this season, and I still could live with it. I do think that him winning the Brownlow this season is an indictment on the club to a large extent. However, the blokes you want gone at least contribute on the field, or at least they do in the eyes of the match committee.

Top 6 in the BnF means nothing especially this years best clubman award...FARCE!!!!!
Teague and McKernan were our last 2 best and fairests right???

How much are they offering us???

Yes the MC.... they do to the eyes of the MC.. is that why theyre not being jumped on to sign up?????

Theyre not required players because the club is not fussed about signing up these blokes.....

Thats right!! The players i want to get rid off dont have a contract...... yes yes they finished high up in the BnF...... i know.. i know.....

When he feels like it!

If you are prepared to dump Kouta as captain, Whitnall and Camporeale for the betterment of the club and to make a statement. Then we should also trade Fev to make the statement that his attitude is a bad example to the young players, and not the way to go if you want a career in Navy Blues. And denigrating the greatest Carlton player ever in public is not on! We certainly aren't going to be losing a flag by trading him and he only kicked 12 goals in the 4 games he played when we scored premiership points.

I never ever thought I would see the day when Carlton fans are looking towards St Kilda as the model for the future and what to do with problem childs.

Look Campo noone wants.. and he wants more money... (it doesnt matter what you get because if noone wants him why is he good enough for us???)
If youre saying we cant get anything good for those bananas cos noone will want to give us anything good for them.. then WHY DO WE WANT THEM??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Fear!!!!

Thats why....

Cos we are now a fully fledged pathetic club that claws onto has beens as our saviours paralysed by a phobia of losing them even when were last !!!!!

I think one or two of you had better wake up.. smell the coffee.. and begin to realise the cupboard is bare but the few products we have in there are being contaminated by rot.....

And the best way for this club to go forward is start again.....!!!!

Its simple....

You cant just drive around in a burnt orange 120y forever cos your first root was in it...

One day you have to move on....

to follow from sailorman - shit i hate it when i start agreeing with him again  - Campo, lance Kouta and lappin are four of our best and we win a wooden spoon (again) so there are two arguments here. Keep this four and keep building around them

or

face that for us, in our predicament, at this time, these four offer us very little. Kouta stays (mind you if someone would take him for a 2nd round pick I'd jump at it) the rest trade if you can for whatever you can get becuase for this list they give us stuff all - seriously stuff all, they all played lots of games, polled well and we came last. that tells me that they don't do the things we need them to do (but that other cliubs might not need).

I have nothing against them (well maybe Campo, hate the way he plays football, just my preference that's all)) but they are not a good fit for us. they take big money and they take all the easy balls and they leave us with kids who have to do all the chasing for them. Sorry i'd rather pick up more kids and just keep working at the list.

As for Fev keep unless a ripper trade comes up, then do it.

In my mind he is the only 'maybe A grader' we have at the moment. There is a reason we come last to me that reason is that our four 'best players' playing well doesn't mean jack shit in terms of wins for this club.

db, i think some of us are so desperate that we will cling to anything for hope instead of taking more pain but with time turn the club around....

I really think some of us would take being average for 10 years rather than shit foir another 4 then a window of opportunity for the premiership....

None of those guys will be there for that window....

But Synbad those 3 players we keep talking about still have not signed. Months and months have passed and the board has still not caved.
Only 2 weeks now to trade week and no huge offers have been made.

I dont know what is going to happen but to me thats makes me feel that Collo is not going to be swayed and is going to call there bluff.

We signed all we want and those 3 amigos are hanging out there to dry now. If they want to walk I suppose they can. Until I see 1 of them signing for unreasonable terms (to long and to much money) then I am backing the club.

There's no doubt the market has corrected dramatically from 2000/01 when these blokes were signed up. Why? Because teams can't beat the cap blah, blah, blah.

Thing is, the new market will decide their worth in terms of contracts and salaries. If Campo can't get a sniff from another club, he takes what we give or he wanders off - fair enough.

If Lappin can get 3 years elsewhere and we can't/won't give it - he wanders off.

If Lance can get $400 from elsewhere - we need to decide if we want him to continue or not.

Can't blame them for trying to maximize their returns can you? They're playing the game through their managers, that's what managers do, durrrrr.

If we can get a good trade for Fev - kick his arse out the door regardless of if we think he can kick a tonne or not. He's shown more dis-respect to the club than all players combined that I've watched wear the navy blue for 36 years  .

Sorry but the fact they are finishing top 6 in our best and fairest says that they are actually offering us "more than nothing". We're not last because of these guys we're last because underneath them there is very little stepping up (players like Sporn, Davies, Wiggins, Livo etc that have been around for 4-5 seasons and by now should be showing more than they are). Our good players are just that, good players, we need the players below them to step up and HELP Campo, Lance etc.

Does anyone on this site that is advocating that Lappin - Kouta - Campo and whitnal actually watch a game of football. If these guys were playing for other clubs they would be rotated off the bench as they are at that stage where trying to play out a full game is getting very difficult. Christ even Cousins and Judd get rotated. Pagan up until the last 3-4 weeks of the season didn't have enough confidence in others to rotate them off so he left them on all game thus hindering their impact on the game. All good sides have the ability to rotate players on and off the ground to improve their motor. We dont we have persisted with Sporn- wiggins bannister and johnson and co and they are not up to it so therefore Pagan was left with no choice other than leaving these guys on the ground. When Campo - Lappin - Koouta and Whitnal look at their fellow work mates its no wonder they have an over inflated view of their own worth. Develop further the simpson - bentick - Carrazzo and the new youngens - Piss off the junk in the middle - keep your top self and wait a few years and it will eventually all fall into place . Our top six is not the problem our bottom six is not the problem it is the junk in the middle.
