I've never read Synbad's posts....at a cursory glance; they've always seemed to be incredibly longwinded and rambling.

And today; I've commented very blandly with 3 words as a reply to a Synbad post for the very first time in 7 years...... and a Moderator has stepped in to flex his newfound muscles...... .

Absolutely unbelievable!.......................

But if anyone dare say anything like that to you, you report them straight away? I don't see why you'd be angry about it?

Exactly - he chose Carlton as his destination.

The club's (and the AFL) were shitting themselves about restraint of trade and were all working together to ensure that players got to their preferred destinations (read preferred places of employment).

We should have held fast at Picks 3 and 20 - it was enough.

We effectively gave them Pick 3, 4 and 20 - way too much.

The hindsight deal would have been Pick 3, 20 and Bower which is what they originally asked for and we said no, then we offered Kennedy.

That is not true.

I'm uncommitted on Cloke - would like to see what else is on offer over the next few weeks.

Also, we have young talls, albeit under-developed. The big question for me is how will they progress under a different development regime ??

5 mill on 5 years is a huge gamble.

If we were offered 3 and 20 now for Marc Murphy, would you take it?

What did Murphy do to you Rhino?

Thought he did well do come back and play clearly underdone and undersized.

Last year he was very very good. Won coaches award if i remember correctly. That usually says something.

Plenty of better targets than Murphy.

If we are talking this years National draft I would say yes but would ask for a swap of second rounder draft pick as well.

I think we all know that CLoke will make us a better team.

He will come at a huge cost though that will leave us in a heap in the future if we win a flag or not.

So its a gamble. Do we take a punt or play it safe and hope for the best.

It is a huge gamble, but with a few players like Judd, Simmo, Scotland, Waite & Carrots all 28 plus, our premiership window isn't that wide, hence MM has come on board. Cloke is expensive but proven, and can't really see guys like Casboult, Mitchell holding down key positions when we're going for a GF in the next two years. Too big an ask & too risky. Got to remember that we're competing against Hawks (Franklin & Roughhead), Geelong (Hawkins & J-Pod), West Coast (Kenney & Darling), Adelaide (Tippett & Walker).

IMO Judd was twice the player Murphy is when he left West Coast Agro. So they'd bre crazy to take 3 and 20?
For the record, I wouldnt trade Murphy for the No.1 pick. Having watched the championship games, theres too many hits and misses this year. Too unpredictable.

Just don't rate him as highly as others do. It concerns me that he's our most important player, yet so mentally fragile. 3 and 20 is a good return for making him a scapegoat for the season (far better than using, say, Gibbs or Walker instead).

I'd love to know how Mick rates him. Probably much higher than I do, but certainly curious to see how his role changes.

The coaches award says the coaches rate him very highly. They'd better better judges than all of us I'd suggest.
The kid was a jet earlier this year until injured. Probably the form player of the competition.
