Anyone think Lappin would be a chance to end up at Richmond, the club that chased him something shocking a few years back?

Once again well done Kouta for winning the B&F. Deserved to win it and DID now I wonder if those Bomber supporters are slash and burning Hird? What a %*%?#@ joke.

Hird is miles ahead of Kouta as a player and a leader scottee.. and on less $$$$$$$... but he has performed at a higher standard for alonger period too....

Yes Hird is a better leader but it just shows if your sides crap your side is crap no matter who the leader is (great leadership by Hird cracking the shits at Sheedy in the last round).
Personally I think they are at the same level as players yes Hird has performed over more seasons but I'd still pick Kouta if I had to draft one.
And less $ what $100 less wow! Hird would have been payed $100000's more over his career and has played a season less after starting at the same time.
But this wasn't a Hird vs Kouta thing.

Once again well done Kouta for winning the B&F. A few seasons ago people where whinging Kouta was injury prone and they just want him on the park and when he plays every game at a good standard people find something else to complain about. Its fine to point out negatives but how many gave positives sweet &@#? all said well done! All I have learn't over the past year on here is Football has turned into a friggin popularity contest. No matter what they do right or wrong if you like someone they do everything right if you don't like them they do everything wrong.

scotopee, i agree about salot of things with you...

idolatry is not one...
Kouta just shuffles around these days.

Saying his output is on par with Hirds is OTT...
Saying his leadership is on par with Hirds is OTT.

Personally i think youll see how crap Essendon* are when Hird decides to retire..

Theyre about as shit as we are...

But they have Hird... and we have our leaders..

Quote:
Another All-Australian, Carlton's Matthew Lappin, seems headed for his third AFL club.

Lappin's manager Ron Joseph said last night there was no offer from the Blues for the versatile Lappin, who originally played at St Kilda.

"All offers are off the table," Joseph said. "They've advised him they're going to wait until the trade period unfolds.

"We've just got to see what the next mad month presents to us."

The stand-off occurred after Carlton offered a two-year contract, while the Lappin camp refused to bend on three.

"He'll be OK; he'll get himself a contract (somewhere)," Joseph said.

Carlton chief executive Michael Malouf said last night the Blues would reopen negotiations with four senior players "in due course".

He was referring to Lappin, Lance Whitnall, Scott Camporeale and David Teague.

"With the uncontracted players, we will be negotiating with them in due course," Malouf said.

"We've got a tight financial position and we've got three senior players (Whitnall, Lappin and Camporeale) to fit into our financial parameters."

Teague is paid considerably less than the other three.

"We're keen to keep all of them, but they've got to fit into our financial parameters," Malouf said.

And when is trade week again?

LAPPIN HAD THE CHANCE TO LEAVE US LAST YEAR FOR RICHMOND. WHAT HAPPENED, HE CHOSE LOYALTY TO THE CLUB THAT HAD GIVEN HIM SOMETHING

CARLTON HAS THE CHANCE TO REPAY THE FAITH SHOWN BY LAPPIN WHO HAS GIVEN US AN ALL AUSTRALIAN YEAR OF SERVICE. IMO WE ARE DOING AN AARON HAMILL IF WE DONT GIVE LAPPIN A CONTRACT

We gave him a contract. It lasts for 2 years. He's just chosen not to accept it.

Doing an Aaron Hamill?

That would be not being held to ransom by some clown who has an over-inflated self-worth, wouldn't it?
