Nothing happened from what i understand (which is only a good sign)

But weren't you saying yesterday that this meeting was the most important in the history of the club!?!

It is an important meeting.. maybe not in the clubs HISTORY but very impo5ant none the less....

The club was threatened by a player that if he was not signed up this week he would go.....
If the club signs him up dont you think its sending all the wrong messages about how strong we are????

All the player is doing is asking the club to make a decision. If yes then fine, if no then he will go elsewhere. Seems resonable to me.

And how come you are critical of someone asking for a decision to be made when you have been demanding them for weeks.

( I'll put the stick away now Mrs C)

Just button/zip up Bm.. after you put your stick away...

I dont even understand your question.....!!!

All i was saying is he was given an offer and told the club if they dont pay him what HE wants he will look elsewhere...

Which is something i heard alot from our players for YEARS... and thats exactly the culture that needs to be eradicated from the club if were to go anywhere in the future.

Its not like he was worth every cent over the last 4 years.. that he feels he can give the club an ultimatum .........

Its been exactly my poiunt about these blokes for the last 3 years... and the culture of the club.

Yes he is entitled to ask suck us dry.... but we would have rocks in our heads to cater to his demands...!!!

So what are you saying ????

Settle Down Synbad, or you will do yourself an injury. It will work itself out soon enough.
The club knows what it is doing. Patience lad, Patience.

maybe rejecting Whitnall's demands too soon might downgrade his trade value. i.e clubs think "shit, Carlton must have a reason for rejecting his demands so quickly". This way it looks like we are deliberating. Just a suggestion.

Kindest regards MCB

I reckon we should condensce everything into a single day, brownlow, trade week, the draft, the GF, whizz fizz, the whole 22 rounds, umpire bashing, Dimwits speeches and witch hunts, caro's articles, patrick Smith's blubbering, pies and beer paied for through the nose, the closing of the roof and then opening it again, everything, and and have this big stick stuck in the middle of the MCG and horse shoes, horse shoes are good, and wehoever tosses the most horse shoes around the stick wins everything - course then we might want slaves too and have a civil war and...

Oh baby don't it feel like heaven right now
Don't it feel like somethin' from a dream
Yeah i've never known nothing quite like this
Don't it feel like tonight might never be again
We know better than to try and pretend
Baby no one could have ever told me 'bout this

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

Well yeah i might have chased a couple of women around
All it ever got me was down
Then there were those that made me feel good

But never as good as i feel right now
Baby you're the only one that's ever known how
To make me wanna live like i wanna live now

The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more ca rd
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part

Don't let it kill you baby, don't let it get to you
Don't let 'em kill you baby, don't let 'em get to you
I'll be your breathin' heart, i'll be your cryin' fool
Don't let this go to far, don't let it get to you

What would we do for the other 363 days of the year?

We'd sit around bellyaching about it not coming soon enough etc.

Personally I think trade week should be made trade year. If a player's not performing just swap him with another club for a few weeks and see if it works out.

And you could have a big slave-style auction at the start of each year with players going to the highest bidder. You could bid 3/4s of your salary cash on Judd or Brown and then have to fill the rest of the team with hacks you hope might get a kick (a bit like fantasy footy really).

I reckon a few of our guys might get a bit of a reality check when they are among the last guys picked

Marc Murphy is really cool and I secretly wish he was playing for us, and also get the feeling that so do the match committee!
