That is just plain dumb!

He is one of the greatest players and clubman of the modern era!

Bar none!

Quality first post.

TheGame throws the bait out there and gets a bite.

Is this the linchpin from TBV and SS fame?

If it is, I have a bone to pick with it.

As am I, mate.

On every opposition forum I've been on before now, anyway.

Voss doesn't hold a candle to Hird. To me Hird is up there on that legendary level with Ablett and Carey. Voss is a level below these guys.

Interested to know where you'd rate Buckley?

I rate Buckley the equal of Voss. Both champions but not on the same level as Carey or Lethal.

Beg to differ thegame. Voss is right up with the best of them and very close to his mentor (lethal), but that's just an opinion.

I agree with Surrey...

Buckley's a great footballer but he's not a "great" footballer.

I've never seen Voss tear a game apart like Carey, Hird or Kouta. He consistently played excellent but if you got Voss' best game he ever played I could find 10 each from the 3 above better.
Don't you wish we were debating who was more brillianter of some of our current players?

I reckon you're splitting hairs on Voss. He probably doesn't stand out quite in the same way a Carey does because he's a midfielder and doesn't stand out like Hird because he's surrounded by guys who aren't that far behind him (Black, Akermanis, Lappin, Power) whilst Hird's an obvious standout at Essendon*.

As for Kouta, give me a Voss playing consistently great football over 10-15 years over a bloke who's had 3-4 great seasons any day. That's the difference between greatness and talent.

You can thank Matty Knights for that.
How good do you think Voss would have gone the last 3 years after 3 knee recos and playing in the worst side in history?

Hed still be a better captain... even if he had 4 knee recos.
