Apparently he doesn't like wearing jocks either, he likes it all to hang loose when he graces the field.

Seriously, Massage works differently on each person and to say that is the reason for ????? is laughable.

He can do 101 other things to help recovery.

eg. Hydrotherapy, Supplements, hyperbaric work..... the list goes on.

What i must say is, your masseur is a good salesman and perhaps also a BS artist.

You were probably also someone who said Fev would kick 120 goals a year if he got his hair cut.

It is all bullshit.

CrazyJoe, if you had read my post you would have realised that I wasn't only talking about recovery. I was also talking about performance enhancement.

But don't just listen to me. Although we dislike his club you would have to admire the work ethic of Nathan Buckley.

Do you get massaged after every session?
I didn’t do it for my first five or six years. These days I realize the benefits. Massage has become a formal part of preparation probably in the last three or four four or five years

So you thought it was a luxury?
I used to think it was for old blokes. It probably is!

How does massage help?
After you have worked hard, generally lactic acid will form in your muscles and when you warm down the idea is to try get the blood through your muscles to flush that lactic acid out – its acid; it’s not good.

Massage is part of the process to get blood flow to the area, the same as the ice baths. You’re trying to get the toxins out so you don’t get as sore, therefore aiding recovery.

Is the preparation and rehabilitation part of modern football the biggest change you have witnessed in the sport?
You’re always looking for that edge. It’s a pretty simple game ultimately, but you need to keep your mind on it basically every day…breaking it down even further than that, every session of every day and then every recovery session.

If you don’t do all of those to the best of your ability, you lose the opportunity to get one step ahead of the people your going up against on the weekend. There’s no doubt footy clubs these days are trying to find that extra edge and make sure players take up the extra opportunites to take advantage of the programs the clubs put in place in order to get the best out of themselves.

It definitely has become harder to get in front of the pack these days, because more players are doing more of the right things more often and there is less of a gap between the best prepared person and the worst.

So young players have to get to a minimum level of conditioning to come into contention?
Yes. And you don’t get much time these days. You get recruited at 17. If you don’t show you’re moving in a positive direction, your career can be over before you really get a chane to fire a shot on the field. So you’ve got to pass the off-field test and learn how to work and prepare to earn the right to play these days, rather than getting thrown in the deep end.

You’ve got to learn to get your body and mind right for the rigours of senior footy. If a young fella can do that, then he gives himself a chance, but if he doesn’t, he can miss out pretty quickly.

So my masseur being the head masseur at the Hawthorn FC is not reputable.

Find my post which said that Fev would kick 120 goals a year if he got his hair cut and I will give you my house and my salary for a year (and don't make up a simple quote - provide a link).

Urine, eh? Now you tell me where the bullshit is coming from?
