If we are really cleaning up the list and delisting list cloggers then I guess we need 3 players to delist in each and every forthcoming years :compulsory .

Other than that what's the point in Didak for 5 games and the rest getting his 31 yo body right? None.
Better off targeting a 2nd tier mid from GWS or GCS where there is young talent aplenty, more so than they can field.

Dane Rampe, Sam Colqhuon, Kane Mitchell, Kyle Martin, Kane Lambert. All blokes who were overlloked in last years national draft because it was considered shallow.

..i can understand the idea of 'top-ups'.. .... ..especially where our list is currently at... ..if they're not costing much in regards to acquiring and paying, then the next question would be fitness.. ..no point getting an older top-up that won't be able to help short term, and may not even help in terms of depth cos they're in and out of rehab group..

We are about to lose Betts

As I mentioned in a previous post, I think finishing 9th and making finals by default will actually set us back further. Here's why.

We lose that last game to port and we finish 12th
That's pick 6 in the national draft
6 places better off in every other round
We've lost Eddie betts.
You don't give away players like Jeremy Laidler.
We could have had pick 6, and two picks early second round. One being compo for betts. Where as now we 6 positions down the order.

Finishing 12th would have given us a easier fixture where as finishing 6th, means we play more top 8 sides next year. So a much tougher draw.

We should have tanked. I don't care for how finals experience is invaluable..... We embarrassed ourselves against the swans.

So now we have pick 12
6 positions down the draft order
No betts
No Thomas (egg on faces once again)
Now Offering didak 2 year contracts
Not much trade value (kidding themselves if they think they'll get draft picks for Hampson)

Trublu exchange period hasn't even started yet - how can we judge whether we have lost Thomas(we never had him technically) until he either re-signs with the bush or until we can under the rules put an offer to him on October 7 - we of course with mick are linked with every Collingwood discard - the journalists have no idea so they just go for the most simplistic solution
The club at least unlike last year seems to be considering a number of options - in the exchange /free agency and draft period - last year apart from drafting aspect of exchange period was diabolical and set our list back again

Everyone you speak to says the only reason Eddie Betts is leaving is CASH - I don't want to pay a one - dimensional forward pocket over $500,000 per year for the next four years -if we do so we will never improve our list

As for laidler has never been the same since Will Minson fell on his knee - I thought he would get more of a go but I know match against Collingwood thought his performance was very ordinary only worst performance for the year was duigans first match of the season against Richmond
Laidler also in recent interviews seemed to not want to try something new in the bullants at half forward - don't we need flexible - multi-dimensional players

Happy to bag the hell out of the club if this offseason we have same inactivity as last season in this exchange period -but its a bit rich putting them to the sword before it has started on the basis of a couple of HS journalists who have the credibility of used car salesmen

Christ on a crutch! Tanking is exactly the root of the rubbish culture we are only now trying to fix.

First up, yes, finals experience in front of 95,000 is valuable -- for a kid like Menzel it's 20 games valuable.

Great that we have a tougher draw -- we need to get better by testing ourselves continually against the best -- not be happy to slum it among other middle-tier mediocrity.

Give me strength!

I honestly doubt Mick will chase Divedak too old and like other posters said only stops development of young players. People need to accept the list isn't as good as previously thought.
Since Judd's been on the slide our leadership has been woeful.
Murphy didn't a great preseason this year so will see how he go's next year before I start bagging him, but he was woefull in the semi untill junk time like many others.

It seems to me that when our good players fire we play well. When they don't our mid range is below par. I think our top players have been better than most but it's our mid tier players that aren't up to it.
I don't really see a lot of mids with good over head marking ability- could be wrong.

The most daunting thing for me is that we have cut the worst of the crap but we still have sh!t left over and too much. I really hope Mick makes heads roll over the incompetence shown by some at CFC.

At least if we don't get daisy Ed's gonna make Collinwood pay through the ar$e to keep him
