Surely Wayne Hughes will get the Footy Ops Job if the vet becomes the CEO.

That's actually what Gerard Healy said! Vet=smart = supposed CEO material.

Bar recent change the core of the list is the same one Ratten took to fifth

That was the ceiling for this lot

Club got Mick to see if he could take th further but that wasn't to be

Take a look at the players who've missed lots of footy this year ... Judd, Carrazzo, Waite all old players plus Scotland retired

It's over for this leadership core

They've run out of legs. Injuries are common place

That's not Micks fault and he's done very well to develop some key defenders and some kids in just the last 8 or so weeks, the redevelopment of a new wave has already commenced and Mick deserves credit for this

If you can't see this you don't know football Gerry

Mick probably knew time would be up for the likes of Carrazzo, Judd, Waite, Scotland etc

He's in it for the LT and that's a plus because he's demonstrated In just 8 weeks he knows how to rebuild lists and confidence and amazingly develop so so players into good players - Rowe, White etc

Gerry, how much depth do we have? Have you seen the VFL side? It's terrible. There's bugger all depth. Do you understand why Mick played senior players since R1 who weren't fit? Is it Micks fault the list is mediocre? Do you understand football?

I think you are very generous sugarcane. And what is the 8 weeks about, he has been at the club about 90 weeks. To be honest i can't see how anyone could think he is getting the best out of the list. Its not a premiership list, it lacks depth but it is also not a bottom 4 list or a worse than brissy list. Compare him to roos. He has had way longer and been far less effective. As for White, he was an okay player under Ratts and he is an okay player now. Rowe was ill for a year and has done well to be serviceable this year? Not sure if their form is worth Mick's salary. He can't lose if no matter what happens, no matter how poor we are it is always the players fault. Ultimately the coach is there to get the best from the players. How many games has he managed to do that this year? In 2 games, maybe 3. Look i intensely dislike him, ii think he is a bitter self promoting ego driven nasty bloke, so I am a bit irrational re MM but i can't imagine why he gets no heat when the rest of the club is under the pump and i genuinely can't imagine us going far with him. I think he has lost genuine passion. And there is absolutely no reason to even consider his contract until august next year.

Anyway if mick is here for the long term i won't be.

If McKay gets the CEO gig I'll probably give it a spell. It would show once and for all that until this board is cleared out completely nothing will change or improve.

Surely given the position we are in and an opportunity to start again we can find someone very very good to take over as CEO. We need a major cultural shift.

I cannot believe we would give another ex Carlton player on the job training in such a vital position. Personally, I think he is lucky to hold his current position.

..yes yes yes, you are right.. ..but the club is either tight, or broke,, or a mix of the two.. ..even with the moneybags backers, we don't invest in the club.. ..ño money, no growth..

To me it sounds like "We'll wait and see if we can convince someone who's knocked us back a dozen times, and if not, we'll just go with McKay. Stuff this process shit..."

If it's not McKay who else from the 1995 team would be available?

Bootsma is the next CEO. It makes sense now.

Not sure why they had to have such a negative press conference to announce his playing were over though.

I'm hearing Andy McKay could move into the newly created director of football role if SOS knocks back the gig and a new footy pops manager appointed. Also hearing Simon Fletcher is being considered for a player development manager. Also hearing that Blake Caracalla is being considered by Mick to become his under study.

Doc floated Caracella on twitter yesterday.

Caracella taught Hawkins how to kick straight - ingenious by Mick if he is bringing him in to teach Levi how to kick.

Re: McKay as CEO...won't happen..but if on the off chance it does I will take my daughters pet tortoise for a check up. The guy is a great guy....but a veterinarian...nothing more.

Judging by your twitter feed Doc you were more than half inebriated drinking Kona beers the last few days. I like the sound of this trip, well done  :)

That's very much the feeling I have as well. All I am looking for is a bit of hope or change in direction, just something. Appointing McKay would be just another step in the same direction.

PS I don't think it will happen and with any luck McKay will get the shits for being overlooked and resign.
