I'd be happy enough with the deal itself.

Obviously I'm not sure what the Eagles think of Gaff long term - or what Gaff wants to do - but the question is worth asking.

Lucas can be good in the right system, maybe he just needs a fresh start back home.

Nobody will pick up Lucas.

The Eagles took both Bennell from Melbourne and Hill from the Bulldogs based on god knows what exposed form.

Admittedly not in exchange for a former top pick.

The proposal is built entirely around the possibility of Gaff wanting to come home, which allows for him to be acquired for less than he might be worth.

u guys must be on some hard drugs, lucas is shieeeeeeeeeeet and u wont get gaff,

getting boyd or patton , u will have to pay overs so pick in the top 5 and and probably Henderson to get them

we have to go for players on the outskirts who are not getting a game and draft well, something we have not done well for a while, just keep praying I guess

Players on the outskirts are all good and well supposing they can play. If they could why would they be on the outskirts?

We need to be tough at the trade table. Target specific players and go after them aggressively.

Maybe.

But I'm telling you he's soft, soft, soft and a pea heart.

If we had 4 A grade hard working mids he might be useful, but if there is any risk of him being tagged he vanishes.

You're comparing Bennell (their last pick in the rookie draft) and Josh Hill who went for about pick 60 odd, to trading their former top 4 draft pick who's consistently been in the side since he debuted, for Kane Lucas, who is barely getting a game at VFL level?

Good troll.

In what parallel universe is Robbo worth a second rounder?

We picked up Everitt for a few spots in the draft.

There are reasons to like Robbo but a second round pick is fantasy land.

If he moved to another club for nothing we'd be ahead purely because he'd finally start hitting some of our players on the chest.

Then we keep him. That was my point.

It also allows for packing deals with other players, picks etc.

Simpson should be a trade option too.

Appoint a list manager first.

The list manager can sit down with SOS (football director) and together come up with a strategy and plan for our future success.

Are you serious? Simmo has busted his arse for this club. He's the last person I'd trade.

SOS is pretty good with 27 first rounders...

Naaaa we obviously don't need one! Andy Mckay has got this I think?.....

Who has been managing our list over the past 5-7 years??

Swan, the CEO, who's expertise is the financials and contacts?

Sticks, the boofhead, who's expertise is sinking schooners??

Or the coach who has been desperate to save his job??

Sounds like a recipe for success to me

Delist:

Bootsma
Duigan
Lucas
Temay
Waite (retire)

Shop around for straight trades with a view to keep rather than delist if unsuccessful:
Garlett
Robinson
McInnes

Accept almost any offer within reason:
Kreuzer

Rookies:
Cachia (delist)
Scotland (retired)
Byrne (retain)
Sheehan (retain)
Uncertain on the other 3 yet. Wait and see if any better options for Wood's spot arrives after first list lodgments.

Trade targets from other clubs:
Ben Stratton
Luke Russell
Matt Rosa
Ben Kennedy
Josh Thomas
Tom Sheridan
Tanner Smith
Jack Hannath
Alex Sexton
Daniel Gorringe
