McLean, Carrazzo, Bell, Cachia, Robinson and Ellard are all slow with average skill..
White and mcInnes average 3rd defenders..
Warnock and Wood are ordinary ruckman with Kreuzer always injured..
Graham, has played 3 quarters of footy, all as sub, no opportunity to have any kind of impact what so ever.. confidence must be shot..
Garlett, quick and skilful, but mick has a new kicking buddy in daisy, no wonder the boy has lost all confidence..
Temay, 2nd rounder 2 years ago, hasn't played a single game, not even as sub, has elite running abilities apparently, not good enough?? How do we know?? Form from the twos?? Please, just ask curnow, missed 8/9 weeks of footy then straight back in, that's part of the problem, when curnow walks straight in without even playing a twos game after missing two months of footy, please mick....
Holman and Giles need more time, but reckon Johnson and Reynolds are worth game time, both have played senior footy..
Move Henderson down back or rest him, hasn't been near it for weeks..
Yarran, our best ball user is played as a defender, joke.. Cyril, Jetta, L Thomas, Varcoe and Ballantyne, wonder how these boys would go playing that role, head up though Yarran mick knows best..
Menzel, Buckley, Cripps and Docherty, few good things that have come out of a poor season..
Our needs in no order,
1. 2 tall key forwards
2. Another tall defender
3. 4/5 mids/utilities
4. A ruckman or two
We have far too many slow average players, we lack key forwards, we lack quality players, lack leadership, lack toughness, mentality weak and have no idea what it takes, just soft players going through the motions..
Don't get me started on recruitment, rogers signed for another 3 years, wowee, gee whiz..
-Lucas or Talia
-Bootsma or kerridge
-Watson or Isaac smith
The list goes on....
Could be worse, could follow Richmond....

We keep trying him forward, and he doesn't really deliver very often. As soon as he was shifted back after half time, became a much more influential player.

Appoint a list manager first.

The list manager can sit down with SOS (football director) and together come up with a strategy and plan for our future success.

SOS isn't coming. He is contracted with GWS until 2016.

I bet you he is.

Must be sealed and delivered then. What a strike rate you have!

It very much looks like we'll be picking top five.

I would love to see these players off our list, one way or the other.

Lucas
Watson
Waite
Carrots
Scotland
Bootsma
McLean
Garlett
McInnes

That's nine. I don't necessarily want to trade Kreuzer but it would be worth dangling and see what's on offer.

But at least those nine.

Would definitely be dangling the likes of Zach, Robbo but I highly doubt we'd get anything near what they would be worth to us to help ride through the next 1-2 years while kids come through.

Never underestimate what they'd give us for Lucas. Or Garlett for that matter - they could really use Garlett, they have no one like him. It's the land of the giants in their forwardline.

Can you imagine Lucas or Garlett breaking someone's jaw?

I heard Yarran on radio last week. He said he loves to play in the backline and this is why he is loving his footy at the moment.

Sadly I don't think we will ever see Kreuzer on the park for an extended period of time. His foot is.. :banghead:

Regarding Casboult, I think we get excited every 4 or 5 weeks when he plays well but to be honest, is he going to be on our list in 2 years? How much better can he get?

We need to draft a young KP with our first pick and perhaps try and trade for another. Waite is almost done and beware of trusting Rowe and Watson for the long term.

I have not seen much of Giles, how is he going in the VFL? I have yet to see him in the VFL bests list.

There is scope for massive improvement.

giles is out for season with a foot promblem.Regarding casbolt with his height and strength and if can recruit some good midds that can deliver the ball correctly he will be good.(hawkins was once talked about getting traded and reid from coll lplayed 4yrs before senior selection and they are both in better team). You are right we need to draft 1 kpf around 195 at least.

I just can't see Casboult getting all that much better. He would be around 25 now and although there is room for improvement, is it enough for him to be a seriously good forward? I hope I am wrong. Maybe Hampson jaded me.

Trade Options (for right deal, if not keep):

Yarran (1st Round) Depends on what type of player we are targeting with our top picks. Replacing his type (even with first round) won't be easy.
Gibbs (1st Round) Disagree - Keep. Need to keep something in the rebuild.
Garlett (3rd Round
Kruezer (1/2 Rounder)
Walker (2/3 Rounder)
Tuohy (2/3 Rounder)
Warnock (2/3 Rounder)
Robinson (2nd Rounder)

I agree with pretty much all of these.

I would also try to trade Ellard.
And I'd have a good think about whether we can get something better for Bell ....

Given that we had such a large turnover last year,
I think it makes sense to get the rest over with now.

Cut deep again this year, and back the coach in for a rebuild.

Players like White, McInnes, Armfield are ok to hang around as topups.
I can even see the merit in letting Rowe stick around.

But we need to make inroads into that list of 'Trade Options' - we need to get a result, or two, or three.
This current group is not working out for us.

McKay just on SEN, confirmed the Yarran deal is almost done.
A bit coy when asked about the length but said probably 2 years and hoping to announce it within a few days.

Macca hinted at multiple players close to re-signing. Menz and Yarran.

..have you some inside word on krooz's foot?, word from the club is he is recovering at the slow steady rate that is expected..

..with bolt, who knows how good he could be.. ..i think he has steadily improved this year, plenty of star forwards get in slumps, so a developing forward learning a dual role is ok to have some inconsistency..

..I agree that we should target a Kpp with our first pick, forward or back, possibly back more than forward actually, though two kpp in top twenty would be good..

..giles played plenty of footy forward as a junior, just the last year as a defender, but currently out with foot stress fractures..
