I can't understand why Gil McLachlan is apparently so supportive of Trigg getting another CEO gig. Given what he did, it just seems strange. The AFL didn't want Elliott sticking around.

We have a long way to go to get back our title as the most morally repugnant side in the comp but this is a pretty good first step.

When the Crows shit went down and Trigg was smashed with a fluffy feather the theory was (IIRC) that he was good mates with someone at the AFL. I thought it was Demetriou, but perhaps it's Gillon (could be shared SA history maybe).

I can't say this news has me inspired, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

On the surface it just seems another safe step, instead of taking a calculated/educated risk. Hopefully Trigg proves his doubters wrong.

Jack didn't have any friends at the AFL .... Trigg seems to have friends in the right places. That can't be a bad thing.
And ... Wasn't the selection of the new CEO an external process? If it was, why should anyone bitch ????

why is there always an insistence of getting people from within the football community?

surely there are better placed CEO who are outside of the AFL world, that have far better experience ...

sometimes the boys club nature of the AFL shits me too tears

Well they went through a process that included candidates outside of the AFL industry.....don't know what there is to bitch about
