If Waite leaves because Norf are guaranteeing him a second where he'd have to earn/trigger a second with us, then good riddance.

give it a few more weeks and it will be a 4 year deal on offer

So we could finish bottom and Waite play around 14 games and will be given another year as we rebuild. All this on the back on one month of good football at the age of 31.

Seriously will we ever learn. Managers must enjoy negotiating with McKay. :?

Spoke to one recently who loves it.

There's still time.

At least if we get Higgins it's like for like...in a medical sense.

makes me think the only reason waite has been putting in this last month, was he was playing for a new contract, with a new club.

you watch him go back to being infuriatingly invisible and made of glass in the new season next year (with his new club). There's only one reason he plays, and thats his bank account.

It's only a gut feeling, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a number of players at the club who value the health of their bank balance over the performance of the team.

That's why Carlton need to be tough with contracts. Have a clear idea what the player is worth and pay him accordingly. If another club wants to overpay for that player, then good luck to them.

That's why I also have faith in Mick to make the hard decision and pull players into line.

How does Higgins seriously fit in to a carefully thought out list management plan?

I am hoping it's more media speculation that reality.

Hopefully.

Can't keep making these errors. Positive last year in Docherty recruitment was wiped out by the Thomas recruitment. Standing firm/not caving in to Waite's demands by only offering one year would be wiped out by the Higgins recruitment.

The focus should only be on recruiting players who will help the team reach the top 4.

I think when Mick, and Judd, and Kade, Jamison, Henderson etc etc have alluded to the bit about the players at the club "finally getting it" ... i think in part that is what they're referring to.

players are here at carlton to play football and playing to win, not for the smarmy lifestyle of lattes and designer clothes and haircuts they thought football was about in the past.

..handshakes >>> cheapish one year deal, depth and leadership.... ..and sweet eff all outside interest.. ..though would let him walk and try to sweet talk Luke ball out of retirement as a Stop gap hard inside mid, and he could teach our group about real team work....
