Well, is Mitchell worth swapping for Pick 27? I certainly don't think so. Sydney will be asking for our Pick 6. This pick should be off Limit no matter what. In Fact, even with pick 27, you should get a decent player given the quality of the draft this year!!

I would try to do a straight player/Player swap for Mitchell. Maybe Robinson/Gartlett/Lucas???

With Waite gone, how many spots do we have free on our list? Add to that the maybes of Lucas, Garlett and Robinson and we could have room on our list. I had heard that in previous trade periods we couldn't do any more as we had to commit to Rookie upgrades (Bell, Curnow, Levi etc.) and new players via the draft leaving not much room above and beyond 1 or 2 additions....

Senior list:
Waite, Duigan, Temay, Bootsma, McInnes

Five delisted

Rookie List:
Scotland, Reynolds, Cachia

Three delisted

OK. That at least gives us room to move for trade week and can delist further after if required. Last year if I recall once Doc and Everitt came in we couldnt do any pick for player deals as we had a full list but am happy to be corrected!

Do we really want guys who can't get regular games at their current clubs, how about we draft guys that will become stars over the next few years. There will be a number like that in the draft, have we decided we are so hopeless at drafting that we won't try?

Pick 6 and our 2nd rounder, plus one of Robbo/Garlett/Warnock/whoever for Jaksch and O'Rourke.

Need the two GWS boys to nominate us and be resolute to get to Princes Park for it to work, simply because O'Rourke was a pick 2 and GWS will want plenty for him.

What's with the obsession with GWS players who can't get a game for GWS. O'ROurke and JAksch might have talent and might have been high draft picks but they have cracked for only a handful of games for the worst performed side over the last few years. Is there seriously no talent at all in this years draft.

Horrible horrible deal.

GWS won't be getting a top 15 pick for O'Rourke.

O'Rourke has had some injury issues, whilst Jaksch is trying to crack a team already trying to fit guys taken with higher picks into the team.

Of course they're going to play Cameron, Patton and Boyd ahead of him up forward, whilst Tomlinson and Davis are preferred down back for obvious reasons.

It also discounts the reality that these tall guys take a bit of time to develop.

I say we go this route because it allows us access to players we'd have loved to have taken 2 years ago for a cheaper price, all the while clearing the decks of players taking up space and coin.

We need to be ruthless with our list and other teams. Good players not getting a sniff? Get them.

Fine by me. Pay them less.

That's actually a lot of delistings from the senior list before a trade period, but 3 of those were forced on us.

Anyway, teamboard updated.

Can't wait to see 10-15 kids under 21 come onto our list. That will bring some energy to the group.

How's that age and experience ladder looking?

Waite, Scotland + Duigan gone from 2014 list. That should lower our average age a bit.

Carrots to follow next year.

Watching 360, sounds like Robbo will be making comment about us in the paper tomorrow.

Building from bottom up, losing Waite, chasing Liam Jones (who can't get a game for the Bullies who are crying out for a good forward), where does MM fit in with all this etc etc.

I'm sure the key people at the club are all over it and have a common and sound strategic direction to lift the club from mediocre to legitimate force...

I hope this isn't with regards to Mitch Clarke. He said on SEN today he had heard of a new club entering the fray, but was still working on the details.

Article is up. All about mick being out of contract next year and how will he get an extension if we're rebuilding.

In other words - trying to deflect off Essendon*
