Blues remain confident Henderson will re-sign

CARLTON is confident of re-signing Lachie Henderson despite significant opposition interest, Blues list manager Stephen Silvagni says.

Henderson is due to come out of contract at the end of this season and is being closely monitored by rival clubs, with the Cats leading the charge for the former Geelong Falcon.

However, Trigg suggested the new coach would have to share the club's vision for its future.

"[We're] setting a framework for the type of coach given where we believe Carlton is at, and where we're trying to take the club," Trigg said.

"And (it will be a case of) a coach fitting into that rather than a coach coming in and – perhaps (under) the old methodology of turning things upside down – (saying) 'this is my way or the highway'.

"We're really clear as a board, management and football group as to where we're taking the club.

"So it's really important for us and the coach has a key role to fit within what we're trying to do with Carlton."

Excellent.

I've got a good feeling about Giles.

Same. Just hope the club saw enough pre-injury to give him the time & opportunity he needs.

We are a bottom 6 list.

But as mentioned above, that can change quickly with one draft/trade period.

Hopefully SOS and McKay can lift the bar this year.

 so what number are we 1,2,3,4,5,6 ?? who is worse than us??

Straight forward?

Looks pretty straight forward.
A few issues, Walker has 2 years of a contract to run. Carrots is playing good footy.
I think you are close to what will happen but as we all know there are always surprises in trade period and it all depends on Hendo.
There is also the possibility that any father/sons wont be in our first 2 round draft selections. Who is the 3rd? Bradley?

Bottom six, rather than 6th. These things can ebb and flow within the context of a season and within the context of the mentality of the playing group.

I hope Walker can regain some form then!!! He is a shell.

Carrots has never been the same since the scum mauled him.

Hendo will re-sign, I have no doubts.

Yeah I've got no idea where Bradley will go. Might end up a rookie?

We can pre-select him as a rookie if he misses out on the main draft.

I am thinking the same with Bradley, not that I have any idea.
The AFL introduced a rule last year that if any father/sons don't get nominated or drafted then the club has the option to nominate them as a father/son rookie selection. Essendon* did this with Michael Long's son.
Hope you are right about Hendo.
