Re: Menzel - needs to get his head right, no doubt. Also feel we need to play him in the Brad Pearce role out of the pocket. IMHO, That is the role! Will be very interesting to see how Bolts go about it. Very interesting.

Are you sure it's in his head SB? Seems to me his body can't do what he wants. I actually thought he came out with agreta attitude at the weekend. His endurance, agility and running ability is as bad as I have seen.

Working to get us a priority pick.

or at the minimum cutting off any crazy ideas the afl gives the lions picks 1 & 2.

that would just about kill off the afl for me and my interest levels.

Both psyc. I feel his body is not right but not sure what it is. Definitely affecting him. I attribute 90% of sport success above the shoulders. He needs to get that right just as much as the body.

I'd prefer to see Menzel have his body right before judging his mental capacity.

He shows signs of being a superstar and then other times he's whincing in pain on the bench.

When he's right he does have good pace and no doubt good hands and usually a deadly left foot.
He's a forward who would be better if he built up his strength and stamina.

I dont think we've seen the best of Menzel. He's still young.

If some team was happy to give us a first rounder for him, our first round selection, I'd snap it up for a high end midfielder.

First I've heard of this.

Where are you hearing this?

Maybe we are trying to prize away a couple of GWS and Suns players wanting to come to Melbourne.

Swap Everitt for Menzel and I would agree. Everitt only runs 1 way and is a huge liability. We have learnt to hide him in the pocket to utilise any advantage we can get. Not the future.

We played pretty well late last season when he was out of the team. If he kicks 4 we break even playing him. Other than that it is costly having him out there.

Someone at the Blues has a hard-on for Palmer. We were interested in him when he left Freo too.

The fact that Menz is playing at the moment is a good sign that the club don't have intentions to trade him. If he was gone he would be next to Yarran in the VFL.

Doesn't mean it won't happen but at least it's not a done deal.

I agree about above the shoulders. I am just loathe to say it is a mental issue without knowing him. There is a school of thought he is soft.

We may end up with Grimley and Sicily in a deal similar to Cheney/Lowden from last year...

Sicily has a heap of potential. I'd be keen to see him on our list.

So Treloar has nominated Richmond as his preferred destination - you'd think the Tigers would have to give up at least (plus extra) their first round draft pick to make this happen. This doesn't leave much currency for a Yarran trade to happen.
If they are interested in Yarran I wonder what they could/would be willing to offer us to make this trade happen? If it comes down to future draft picks we'd probably be better off holding on to Yazz for another year and taking the free agent compo from the AFL.
Hopefully another club is interested in him?

Maybe the new coach could bring him over.
