The rumour is that we are big time into him. The advantage we have (IF we can convince him) is the PSD, which gives us great leverage regarding trading with GWS. If we can threaten them that he goes into PSD ie. no compo for GWS and create a deal structure (front loaded) that keeps Brisbane out, well then we are gold.
It all hinges on the players preferences.

It's a lovely thought, but ask yourself-
Why would he pick us over Collingwood or Richmond?
When was the last time a really good player changed clubs via the PSD?

Nick Stevens! And in a way Hamill as we Only accepted very poor picks because he was about to move via PSD

PS I don't have the examples handy but am quite sure that clubs with early pick in PSD have used this leverage to get the advantage

IF Treloar doesn't pick us just tell him we'll cancel his yearly carlton membership ;)

Stevens was more than 10 years ago. What about since then?

I don't doubt we are making inquiries with Treloar's manager, and they would be happy with that because it will force Collingwood to increase its offer. But ultimately, I can't imagine why he would nominate us as his preferred destination. Under the Goddard rule perhaps?

Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Ok so an updated on my ideal scenario. Note I don't want to give the farm for Treloar. If he is available via the PSD then swap him with Carlisle in my list.

List Cleansing:

Retire: Judd, Carrazzo
Trade: Henderson (Pick 8), Yarran (Pick 14), Bell (2016 Brisbane 2nd Rounder, ~21)
Primary Delist: Armfield, Warnock, Jones, Ellard, Tutt, Watson,
Rookie Delist: Johnson, Fields, Russell

Outcome: 11 out on Primary list, 4 from Rookie List.

Trade Period:

Trade pick ~21 to GWS for Wilson and Plowman
Trade pick ~57 to Hawthorn for Sicily

National Draft:

Pick ~2: Jacob Weiterging
Pick ~8: Charlie Curnow
Pick ~14: Rhys Mathieson
Pick ~39: Bailey Rice
Pick ~75: Jack Silvagni
Pick ~93: Ciaran Byrne (Upgrade)

Pre-Season Draft:

Jake the Snake Carlisle

Rookie Draft:

Pick 2: Mark Kovacevic
Pick ~20: Daniel Rioli
Pick ~38: Deer with no Eyes
Pick ~56: Matt Korchek

Nice summary KK. I'd be happy with it.

Regarding trades I think in reality the following will happen

Yarran to Richmond for first round
Henderson and ???? to Geeling for first round
Kruezer will stay
Bell to GC/Lions for seond round
Menzel to be shopped around

We will get a number of picks and maybe a player like Plowman.

I hope we get Rice.

Lol, at the right price you'd keep him for backup as we have nothing else.

The price may be half a bag of crisps and an out of date big m but when you've got nada except Wood and the physically unreliable Kreuzer then you're stuck.

They've got the international rookie as a ruckman to develop and I'd hope they'd get another late in the draft to develop also

Korchek would be better value as a backup ruckman than Warnock.

..knockers is the most physically unreliable ruckman in the league.. ..krooz has been in the system for two less years and has played 118 games, knockers with the extra two years has played 88.. ..not exactly the reliable type..

Really does depend on how much knockers was prepared to pay us

You've both mentioned Bell for Bris/GC second round pick.
Personally I don't see either team giving up pick 20-25 for Bell, especially when they have all the power if he does request a trade home. I'd lower the expectations a bit on this trade.
