From what I saw of SOSOS in the u18 champs he has as much talent as what I've seen as Menzel.
It'd be great to keep both, but if Menz wants out we've got a good replacement.

We simply must let Krooz go , if he can get double the length of term and more money, good on him - its win win all round.

Use pick 1 on Weitering

Trade pick 2 for Treloar , swap some later picks or try and get another GWS player in the mix Plowman?

I think Brisbane will get pick 4 compo for Leuenberger

Trade Hendo to Geelong for pick 10

Trade Menzel to Adelaide for pick 14

Trade Yarran to Richmond for pick 17

Get Carlisle in PSD

Second Round pick could be 23? (based on FA compo for us, bris, adelaide - danger, WCE - selwood)

I know that is extremely ambitious and well off what is realistically likely to happen , but even half of that happening would be a massive turnaround and kickstart back to the top

5 picks in top 25 and Treloar and Carlisle

Bell for Redden or Aish would be a dream too

I like it Gro but I'd get more value for pick 2. Brisbane have a hard on for Schache so I'd offer them a trade of pick 2 for pick 3 if they throw in Stefan Martin and trade Aish for Bell.
Then I'd offer pick 3 to GWS for Treloar. If GWS don't accept, take Francis with 3.

That would take some serious luck and skill to pull off. Bris would have to believe we were not going to use pick 2 on Treloar anyway. GWS would know what is going on and easily bluff us as they would want pick 2 not 3.
Can't see it happening. Would be good though.

What do we think the Pies will pay for Treloar?

Deano is right. When you look at the Beams trade you see that Treloar is worth more than pick 2. However Beams was contracted. Will come down to the market.

Pick 2 for 3 and they give us Martin?
I can't see that happening.

Id rather spend 1 and 2 on the best key forward and best key defender in the land, who have 10+ years ahead of them.
No more selling the farm Judd type deals. Forget about AT. Let the Pies break the bank for him.

Just imagine for a second having extremely talented young Key Position players at each end of the ground.......

It's not a fantasy, used to be commonplace in the "old days"

Get a Curnow type with Hendos pick which will blend beautifully with Gibbs, Cripps and Murphy then put Yarran on the wing/half forward

Shifter Sheehan was asked who he rated higher out of Boyd,McCartin and Schache
He said Schache.....so if Kruez goes we have to get him and Weitering.

You people are dreaming if you think only offering Pick 2 will land Treloar.
Plus He is going to the pies.

What are the Pies offering that is better than pick 2? :?

If Kreuzer leaves i don't trust the AFL giving us pick 2.
If we get pick 2 it will definitely not be offered for Treloar.
We cannot match the contract the pies are putting up and also he wants to go there.
He will not be coming to Carlton.
Pretty simple but feel free to keep dreaming.

Try again by actually answering the question.

I still believe that to be a force you need one (or more) of:
1) A quality spine
2) A stingy defense
3) A dominant midfield

Our best shot right now IMO is #1. At least in terms of "potential", a young spine of
D: Carlisle* / Weitering / Giles
C: Cripps / Graham
F: Scache / Jaksch

Gives us a lot to build on for the future, if developed properly.

Yep, like Ling has any influence over how much a player is payed in a contract and the terms attached to it.

I have no reason to doubt ABNS' mail here at all.

If that is the case, wonder what it would take to shake Grundy loose?

I'd be happy to trade the Henderson pick for him. Not so keen on Witts. Good fundamentals, but never strikes me as having enough to ever dominate as a first choice ruck, nor the flexibility to justify a spot as second banana. That and Collingwood would want similar compensation.

Ex-Footballers in the media with no understanding about the compensation criteria for FA.

Jonathon Brown started yesterday when asking if "Carlton should trade him as a Free Agent".

Then you'll have those that will talk about best and fairest placings, All-Australian honours and how he can get #2 if Buddy only got #19? etc etc. All irrelevant.

Building bolts

Player agents have suggested keeping an eye on how many Hawthorn players join Brendon Bolton at Carlton in the next year or so. "I don't expect to see any of the main boys, but those on the peripheral, and there are a few out of contract this year and next year, who would be keen to join Bolts," said one agent.

If we do get pick 1 and 2 could be a Riewoldt Kozi situation and Aints built on that by getting Gehrig and hamill
Sad to lose Kreuzer but that's wig
Hat free agency does
