If Kreuzer leaves, we land pick 2, it's a no brainer..
Pick 1; Weitering
Pick2; Schache
Only concern, need to find a ruckman, sorry, Wood & Warnock no good..
If we land pick 11 for Henderson (cats pick), will Weideman still be their??
Hope Menzel and Yarran stay and work hard under Bolton..
Bailey Rice will come in if he picks us.
Our second rounder pick 19/20 will come in, best available, probably mid.
We should chase Aish, will Bell be enough??
No chance Carlisle will walk through the PSD for free, don't care anyway..
Maybe next year & beyond..
Buckley Jamison Jaksch
Docherty Weitering Simpson
Yarran Cripps Rice
Everitt Schache Boekhorst
Menzel Weideman Thomas
Casboult Murphy Gibbs
From; Curnow Graham Rainbow Aish Whiley pick 19/20
We need also a ruckman
Small forward
A mid or two
All in good time, Rome wasn't built in a day..

Just hope that picks 1 & 2 or whatever else we get do not turn out to be like Jack Watts or Luke Livingston.

I'm excited but very very nervous!

So:

Judd, Carrazzo, Ellard = Pick 1, Pick 2, Wood promotion
Kreuzer = one of the Irish boys promotion to the senior list

Henderson gone = lets say for pick 11 (but in terms of list spots, Carlisle in the PSD)

That leaves us with pick 11, 22, 40, 58, 76 to be dealt with (realistically this probably includes Silvagni and Rice), also a host of other names linked to us - Lamb, Sicily, Grimley, Aish, etc.

Probably six more changes.

Bell
Yarran
Watson
Armfield (re-rookie)

Not sure where we can go from there. Seems they'll hang on to Warnock with Kreuzer gone. Everyone else contracted. Pay Tutt out early? Giles unlikely?

Judd, Carrazzo, Ellard, Kreuzer, Henderson, Yarran, Bell, Watson, Armfield out (9 out)
Weitering, Schache, Rice, Silvagni, Sheahan, Wood, Aish, Carlisle, pick 11 in

Which leaves one more delisting to cover whatever pick we got from Richmond for Yarran, and not taking picks 58/76 or picking up any list depth.

Logical move for me from there would be delisting Warnock, and on-trading the Yarran pick for another ruckman (Smith or Gorringe from GC for arguments sake).
Other options would be taking the risk of having to redraft Sheahan as a rookie and assume no-one takes him as an unsigned free agent as we did with Matthew Dick.
Our hand may be forced with Essendon*/Carlisle, and we end up paying the Henderson pick for him anyway (at risk of North trumping us with 13).

Although difference between first and second banding in this instance is one spot in the draft, I can't see him attracting only band 3 compensation.

Wonder if they're offering 4 years also?

From reading an interview with Craig Vozzo the other day, I assume they'd have to pay overs/front load, basically saying they'd match the deal if the offered compensation wasn't good enough.

Nice write up Rhino, agree it might come down to paying one or two out to clear space for newcomers. It won't/can't be Jones, and I really hope Warnock doesn't get another year. I'd rather Casboult and Wood, with another project picked up with a late pick this year.

I'd be happy with Grimley/Sicily for pick 50, but I just can't see how we'd clear the space on the list for it.

Am I right in saying that teams receive one compensation pick for free agency covering their total free agency period, rather than a pick per player?

If that is the case, wonder if its worth talking to teams interested in Henderson or Yarran to take Armfield as a free agent to ensure that we get over the line for pick 2 and also ensure the playing list size isn't compromised..

i would imagine schache would take jaksch's spot as the mobile leading forward, and casboult will be the big marking target up front.

jaksch and scache will divide their time (hopefully, ie bolton can manage their minutes) and games spent up front.

I'm pretty sure Port got 2 separate picks for Danyle Pearce & Chaplin in 2013.

Seems ridiculous to think that potentially the bottom side would only delist one player from their senior list (Ellard "retiring" aside), but it's quite feasible.

From all of that above, I completely forgot about Simon White being out of contract as well. Would be a very harsh call to see him given the chop.
