Would like to know what the best way is to make public ...so the newspapers catch on ....to ask:

What Compensation pick is Waite worth?

Its a beauty of a question which would leave the AFL red faced with all this Kreuzer compensation pick 2 being questionable by AFL.

Waite is a match winner. A proven finals star.

I am so frustrated having to watch Laidler vs Waite last night.....MM
Friday night it was Jacobs and Betts .......MM

Next weekend...it doesnt stop.

Kennedy vs Waite

I hope we are targeting some good trades our way... And nail them.

Carlisle Aish Ploughman Philips .....a surprise coup ......Treloar like....please

And woulld love to have Weitering and Sasche....and Parish/curnow or both.

We have made tough decisions with a new President, CEO, Recruitment, Fitness, coach, Silvagni's tough calls on Hendo Kreuzer yarran.....surely our luck has to change...we have changed....or do we need Gleeson gone too.

Are we pretending 2013 didn't exist?
2 goals per game average from a small forward in finals is an excellent record IMHO.

Forgot sorry. Think i have completely blocked the Malthouse years out of my mind. What a predictable disaster that was.

I love Eddie Betts. Still go out of my way to watch him play.

I love Eddie and I wish we had kept him because small forwards with his abilities don't come around often & I would prefer him to an overpaid injury prone bogan from Collingwood.
However, I think the point that he isnt as effective against better teams is valid.
In the last 3 years he has averaged 2.27 goals per game but that average drops to 1.28 against top 4 sides.

yes because against top sides you get even more opportunities to score, the ball comes in easier, the pressure is less etc.

A drop off, probably a large drop off, will happen to pretty much all players. Especially small forwards. Let's not forget this.

The sad thing is this............

Yazz, whilst was serviceable for CFC, never really hit the elite status his potential so promised he could.

BUT - send him to another club and i guarantee you he'l be at least All Australian.

Just look at our record:-

Betts
Jaobs
Garlett
Waite
Robbo

( i won't include Kennedy as it was a fair deal)

Thats whats more of a concern to me. Hendon and Yazz are quality players - WHY do they not play with quality for us??? What are we not giving them?

The last thing id want is for Cripps to say in two years time "I request a trade".

Listening to the interview post his B&F win I do not think that will happen.

Listening to past interviews with a few players we have lost or are about to, I'd have said similar. We have a unique ability of making players want out

I'd say that's worth $500k.

Yep, considering the average AFL player earns about 300k per season, I'd suggest 500k for a player who kicks 63 goals is a simple equation.
As for the view he goes missing in finals, his goal average is higher in finals than it is in H&A games.

What about his average against Freo/Syd/Haw/Gee compared with the other teams?
I'd expect it to be lower bc they've been the benchmark over the last 7-8 years
Would like to know the actual difference.

Nah. Look at Bulldogs. Lost Griffin, Cooney, Ward, Harbrough,... probably a few others that I can't think of.

As I said in the Yarran thread, the Dogs might have lost players but they were handsomely compensated for each one.

Us, we lost Eddie, Jeffy, Robbo, Waite & Laidler for a collective return of pick 61 (Clem Smith).

I was speaking to your comment that we have a unique ability to have players want out. Just saying that it isn't unique.

Wasn't talking about returns at all.

Em, although it fell into the FA criteria Pick #27 for a possible All-Australian in Higgins isn't "handsomely compensated", especially as we are currently complaining about the proposed #28 and Walker rumour for Henderson, and second rounder for Yarran.

Also you failed to mention in that thread that Boyd cost them #6 as well as Griffin although I think they'll still win that in the end....

You are also comparing our old list management "practices" to the new.

Whilst we are all sceptical due to previous failings you should wait until trade week is complete rather than passing judgement on rumours.

SOS has come from a list that is full of 1st rounders - he knows how far back we are, so do you really think after 12 months of planning he's going to trade out players for a net return of a couple of second rounders and Josh Walker?.....

good players...I mean, really good players confront those hurdles, and whilst they have it much tougher against top 4 opposition, they show some evidence of rising to the occasion.
Eddie hasn't

Would still want him at Carlton no doubt, but he goes missing when the torch is applied

Getting sick of the Kreuzer saga. Has been one of my favourites but his prima donna behaviour is pretty annoying. He has hardly played for two years. Has he ever finished top 5 in the b&f ? and now reportedly he is not happy with a three years deal that guarantees him $350k a year if he plays no games plus handsome salary if he actually plays a season at the level we expect. Seriously Matthew, have a listen to David Ellard talk about the club, sign the contract, be really grateful and repay the club for the enormous support we have given you. How many players on our list are actually committed to making the club better. Do any of them say "I am going to make this place better" We are paying our guys the same as the Hawks. How come we never hear Luke Hodge bitching about unfair contracts. Either sign or go.

@#$%&! lol.

How do you even know there's a contract in front of him?
What exactly has ever screamed "prima donna behaviour" about Matthew Kreuzer?

Kreuzer is possibly the very last player in the competition that I would describe as a prima donna

Let's say we sweeten the Hendo trade with something to ensure pick 9(?).

We then offer pick 9 and Bell to Gold Coast for pick 3.

Hendo and Bell for pick 3.... that's a yes from me.

What I'm struggling with is the sweetener on the Hendo deal.

Keep the scenarios coming people. We really need to trade up this time.
