Call me crazy but how about we just use Walker as our go to forward?

He kicked 11 goals in 4 games when we moved him up forward. Plus, he's 57 goal season a few years ago when we consistantly played him up forward wasn't too shabby either???

Yeah, I hate this trade period so far. How long has it been going and we've already lost AA gun Jake(y) Carlisle, Aish, Rice, Bell, Hendo for pick 78, Yarran for pick 321 + Tambling..... It's just horrible. I can't wait for this putrid week to be over.

That part where the salary cap draft penalties happened again was the absolute worst of it though. SEN were so arrogant they didn't even bother mentioning but you knew they were all thinking about it.

Why hasn't Malouf done anything about any of it yet?

As if a first round draft pick is worth as much as a player who is in the top 5 % of wages in the AFL
Thats effectively what they are saying
The loonies have stuffed this up again and are now making the matters worse.
If you have a player who is attracting a salary that puts him in the top 5% he is worth 2 first rounders

Exactly, the article is saying that if you lose a player for a wage equal to the 16th best player in the league (not sure how they arrived at that figure BTW), you'd miss band 1. A second rounder for someone in the top 16 players in the entire comp!

The AFL seemed hellbent on us missing out on band 1 for Kreuzer, and have now made the compensation process even worse as a result.

The AFL are making it up as they go.

In the meantime there's the destruction of lists which take years to grow and develop, player manager club battles laid bare in public, loyalty out the door, cost of development not considered, original pick not considered, players wanting to leave their club to play for teams in best position for a flag, the old alternative to VFL/AFL, the VFA dismantled so there's nowhere to turn except local footy.

I can't support the AFL anymore. Unlike many who have given up following AFL completely, I will buy a Carlton membership for each member of my family and we will not attend any AFL games in 2016. I will cancel Foxtel and will watch games at friends or the local.

The AFL are a disgrace. Meatloaf, Bryan Adams, Free Agency, Financing some teams, Watching the demise of others...they are so far off reality with their heads up their arses they dont care about the loyal punter or loyalty.

Boycott the AFL I say.

Lol, so Frawley is being paid in the top 15 players in the comp?

I think it was mooted at the time he left he would be around 550k a year.....

Clearly it's time to publish what players earn if you want real transparency

Think you missed the part where they said that this was effective from this year, in light of impact of new TV deal = i.e. increasing salary cap, increase in average player wage.

One of the better first posts you'll see going around. I like the way he goes about it.

Lance, unlike elsewhere, we're allowed to be sarcastic over here and aren't criticised for doing so
