If the club comes out and denies the article, it gives it validation.

Lance's best bet is to put his head down and bum up and ignore the shit that the herald sun puts out.

Strange how the HS didn't give it to Jonathon Hay after that photo. He made Lance look like a pipe cleaner.

How much does Lance weigh at the moment?

Sorry Deano but I disagree. The club has to start coming out hard on these issues. These powderpuff responses are hurting the Carlton brand and while in the past we were able to ignore them and point to our winning record, we all know now we don't have the luxury to be able to do that!

Give us the truth. If it's true, Lance SHOULD be pilloried for his lack of professionalism ... if not, lets make sure everyone knows.

For too long we've let the journos totally destroy our reputation by writing baseless articles ... see the treatment of Fevola in recent times (the quoted size of his contract goes up every month) and going back a bit Diesel Williams (that brush cost him how many weeks for supposedly 'striking an umpire') and the whole 'Carlton is slow theory' in the 1990s despite us beating top teams week after week on VFL Park and the MCG.

Ha this joint is laughable. Some of you think you are experts at watching training. Give me a break. What are your qualifications guys?

What school hands out qualifications for watching training?

That is even more laughable.

Why validate what seems to be a bullshit article? If the same thing was reported in a few different media outlets then perhaps we should make a statement. Until then it's a wild stab in the dark by a pissweak 'journalist' in a pissweak newspaper.

It's a one-off horseshit article (or at least appears to be) in what was otherwise a slow news week. I personally would be very disappointed if we weren't media-savvy enough to treat the article with the ignorance it deserves.

Now you can't post a training report without submitting your resume to the TC Board for approval.

Now there's a laughable idea.

Deano,

I disagree with your disagreance :P

If it is a turd of a story, then the club should come out in no uncertain terms and blast them. Its time we stopped copping this shit... If we don't do this, we'll be an easy target for more shit throwing.

if its true

If I read one more shitty post slagging off our guys that are kind enough to take time out of their schedules to supply us poor bastards that can't get to training with reports then I'll f*cking scream.

If you're such a bloody expert then get along yourself and put out some training reports instead of sitting back from afar and slagging off.

The training reporters here are MORE THAN APPRECIATED by myself and many other interstate/overseas members and if they stopped because of crap like this I'd be f*cking ropeable.

Anyone else got a sense of "Here we go around the Mulberry bush, the Mulberry bush, the Mulberry bush.... early in the morning.'

Let me clarify my thoughts on Lance.
He may well be over his ideal playing weight but what is his ideal playing weight?
When did he last achieve it?

I've seen Lance look fat as a pig on the track over the past few years.
He may not be his lightest currently but he's nowhere near his heaviest either.
I've been as big a critic of Lance lately but as long as he's applying himself and presenting in reasonable condition, I'm not fussed.

The Hun may be right. Lance may have presented 8ks over what the club expected but he's as mobile as I've seen him. If he can stay injury free, he'll be cherry ripe for round 1.

Couldnt agree more Deano
Only a small minded person would take cheap shots like that. This is a Carlton Community and when you start attacking people for posting very very informative training reports, you should take a look at your self. Even animals know they dont eat there own kind.
