Only caught the end of the discussion.

The last part the following was covered:

- Nick Stevens beat Lance in the run, someone was speculating otherwise.

- Nick Stevens was 3 -4 kg over his playing weight, but the club new that he was going too take it easy over the break too rest a niggling groin injury he had in the later part of the season. He is now only 1.5kg over his playing weight.

- Lance is not 8 - 10kg overweight, and he actually completed his time trial quicker than last season.

- He was excited about the prospects of Saturdays draft, as are the rest of the guys. "Hopefully we can get a couple of midfielders and a tall defender".

So, with Murphy at No 1, still don't know if they will take a Kennedy, Ryder, etc with No 4, or take a midfielder with No 4 and then key defenders with picks 20 and possible 36.

Can't wait.....

And yet today's Hun (can't get link up), in reporting that interview, still asserts that Lance is 108kg.

Maybe he is 108kg on the 'bad scales'. at home I have good scales and bad scales and the bad scales are the ones that say I'm overweight, the good ones just say im buff.

Maybe he weighed himself after dinner.

You should always weigh yourself in the morning. First thing. Otherwise your have about 1 litre/kg (or something) of fluid in your body from the day. Or in Lance's case 8. :)

LOOK!!! NOONE said Lance is currently 108 KILOS.. what was said is he came to pre season training at 108 kilos.
Stevens said he would donate his pay if Lance is NOW 108 kilos.
He also said the club isnt unhappy with him (Stevens) because "they know what happened".

The club did not deny Lance returned from his holidays TEN KILOS HEAVIER than he should have.

thats just sheer excess from a guy that doesnt give a shit about setting an example.
I really cant understand how some of you dont get it makes NO difference its Novemeber because improvement comes from discipline, sacrifice,willingness...singlemindedness.
What we got is a guy who thinks its ok to go out there and do what he likes for two months and he will fix it later.
Noone in THE REAL WORLD GETS 2 months off a year and get paid for it.
You can imagine Mark Maclure doing a Lance in the 70s.. but hey thats the 70s and were in another millenium let alone another decade.

Well done, Synbad - the first post from you that doesn't mention how much $$$$ someone is getting paid

Just relax, my friend, I'm sure all will be fine with Lance....... all will be fine, as it has been (more or less) since 1997

Where can I buy these scales, I can only find the bad ones, and the really bad ones that speak "One at a time please!"

For the record my view on Lance is if your getting paid the money he's on he should be turning up to pre-season in good shape. If I was paid that sort of money I would feel guilty turning up anything less than tip-top condition. As mentioned somewhere else on this forum pre-season is not to work off the weight put on during your leave, its to take your body/physical/skills and endurance to the next level.

Thats what im talkin about folks !
A blueboy gets a kickin from the press and a teamate comes out swingin in his defence.HOORAY ! At last.A bit of solidarity.
Forget about the paypacket or whether they were right or wrong.
Ya back your teamate no matter what.
Fantastic stuff Nick Stevens. You've gone up a couple of notches in my book.
Maybe there is a bit of leadership there.
Keep this up and just maybe you might get my consideration as Captain material.

Is that an averaged calculation and you just happen to work alot of nights?

My question is how does a guy actually puts on 8 kilos in 2 months!

I'm with Mickstar though - great effort by Stevens. For whatever reason Whitnall appears to have put on weight and come back overweight. Unconfirmed but likely given no official response from the Club. Given that, we can either yarp on about it, which Im sure Pagan has, or accept it and get Whitnall to push on. This is what Stevo has done. Theres no point publicly berating him, we've just got to move it. Like Whitnall now needs to.

I know in the other threads Synbad and others say stuff about attitude, form etc. and they're DEAD RIGHT. But rubbishing someone in public wont do us or hm any good.

Rubbishing him in public is ok...
He has a responsibility at his age to pave the way for the kids.

Surely were not expecting Murphy/Walker/Setanta to lead the way for standards already are we?

I disagree. I am sick of us taking our issues publicly - I think the whole Fevola thing in 2005 was shoddy. I think rubbishing Whitnall in public is contraryto what we should do. Even though this appears to be Whitnall kicking sand in the club's face, internal admonition is better.

This doesnt mean that we are expecting the youngens to lead for standards. the simple fact is that these youngsters will do this in their own right - all class, all effort. The quicker we get to talking about these guys in public the better.

A journo writes that Lance is overweight and it's now gospel?

How much overweight is Lance exactly?
If he's overweight it's hardly leadership material of Stevens to deceive us about it.
If Lance is overweight and this can be substantiated, will the sky still fall in?
