Why is no emoticon for "sucked in " ?

Can anyone find any confirmation anywhere on the internet that Bartel had signed a new contract with Geelong? There is no record on any newspaper website, on google, afl.com, bigfooty, etc.

If he had been signed, wouldn't there be a press conference? at least a small item in the newspaper? a freaking press release?

In the absence of any of this, you would have to be a little curious as to what's going on with Bartel.

The friendly chaps at BigFooty keep telling me to go away when I ask the question.

i remember reading and article that bartell had agreed to stay at the cats, and for significantly less than what he could earn elsewhere.

it seemed to indicate that he was sign within a few weeks.

heard nothing since.

cutting it fine for himself if he isn't going to stay on with the cats.

can he sign with the cats after this friday's PSD deadline?

Well, fortunately, for the time being our most recent premiership is still within living memory (plus a few more) and no other team has won as many GFs as us. So we still have a few good comebacks. I rarely start the shit stirring, but am unlikely to turn a blind eye if I am engaged in such a way.

It was pretty amusing reading the thread where they're looking copies of the 1989 GF … almost as amusing as reading through the post that read as a litany of failed finals series in the 80s/90s.

Meanwhile, on the matter of Bartel v Geelong FC ...

Will it be a matter of time before the same query is raised re Mal Michael? Let me save a bit of time ...

Hey everyone - Mal Michael hasn't re-signed as far as I know [sorry - AFAIK] so we might get him in the PSD but we're crap because we promised McLaren our first born because that's what we did and now someone else is going to get Mal Michael and I'm going to cry

(With apologies to the thread starter - I'm not taking the piss out of you - your rumour may be based on fact where-as I just make shit up)

A year early too … Michael is contracted until the end of 2006 I believe.
