Eyes on player, jump off the ground directly at Rowe's head......nothing about the act from anyone, not a peep. Glad it was him and not Rowe in the end .... I feel no remorse!

I am glad he is okay, but Rowe was lucky he didnt get seriously injured by it. Courageous? Maybe. Stupid? Yes.

WRONG Wrong
Told you Silvagni selection was a master stroke as was playing A Silvagni white and Rowe was a master stroke
All jokes aside I was wrong about selection and that we couldn't win an AFL game with the three of them playing
All contributed to team win and played their role
Not convinced long term that they are solution but certainly all should play again after that performance

Got it completely wrong

Everyone agrees they are not the future, but you can't dismiss they have an important role to play in the development of our plethora of kids.

We would be negligent to give the job on Buddy to Marchbank Powman and Weitering...maybe Weiters, but his role linking in the middle was a role we always wished Waite would perform for us and never in my wildest dreams did I consider Weiters play the role he did: master stroke.

Alex SOS had done the job on Buddy last 3 occasions, Rowe and White had been given a footy lesson from him, and it was Buddy who was the difference when we went down by 6 points at the SCG. Alex was a no brainer.

You've just got to have an open mind about what the MC are working on. Macreadie belongs, and he showed that from Day 1 in the JLT. Point now is who makes way for him, and if you say Alex, I'd suggest you underestimate his ability and the fact he may be with us for a few years to come having witnessed his blistering closing speed and footy smarts.

There will be ups and downs when we play 5-7 teens and 5 20 yo kids, but don't be surprised. We won 5/6 games last year, and this year we have failed in the 3rd qtr in 3 of our losses. We aren't as bad as some Baggers are suggesting, hence our membership numbers.

Buy a membership based on the half full glass

Samo Getyour-Freakon slipped that tackle like a pro.

It would be sensational if we could get another KPD to have Weitering play forward with Jack, Harry and Charlie. Marchbank, Macreadie, Plowman and possibly JGM could be a good set up.

Jack needs to bulk up and be rested for a month despite his injury. Kid is getting smashed. Jaksch needs a go to keep him fresh and save a better colt.

Get me possesions and i'll shut up.So said the great Ron Barassi. And he was right. We now have kids coming into the joint who know how to get a kick. You will win by weight of numbers if you get it enough.................I was probably one of the few who was wrapped when we got Alex Silvagni into the joint.Cant understand why people were against it as he is obviously a better player than Simon White and Sam Rowe. And i am a big fan of Simon and Sam as they give there all every day of the week. But Alex is a better player than either and thats a simple fact so not wanting him in the joint lacked logic.Alex is tough and has mongel in him so he is VERY welcome at Carlton for mine......................wont talk about the old stagers, its the kids that have bouyed my spirits. At last we are getting genuine talent into the place........................i think the most impotant thing and the common denominator is there are no sq
uibs in Silvagni's gets.Regardless of talent they go in hard and put there head over the ball.Thats a great starting point for our recruiting aint it.A no squib policy

The Carlton Football Club......................Now Always Forever.

Really happy with the result and how it was achieved - it was a great team effort.

Love what Charlie is doing - the Kouta comparison that the commentators loved actually look meaningful.

Hard to believe Williamson has only played a couple of games

And we haven't had someone like SPS for some time. Someone's comment about moving through a pack like a ghost was the perfect description.

Marchbank also quietly effective. No fuss just doing the right things.

After rewatching the game it did become apparent that it Simon White will be lucky to be picked by the end of the season. He has provided great service but his skills simply don't match those of the kids coming through.

Pros:
The match committee know what they're doing and l don't.
ASOS was impressive. Effort, aggression and defensive skill was top shelf. Hope it continues.
Kids showed more composure and were happy to throw their weight (light weights at this stage) around.
Simmo a return to his best.
Doc was scintillating.
Wright has been a very solid citizen and glad for him and his goals.
Thought we endured. Weiters hobling, Smedts also, Levi copped a hit. Bolts wants a tough unit.
Great to see Buddy looking forlorn at the siren. He couldn't remember hearing the CFC theme song after a match.

Cons:
Swans junktime goals at the end
Heeneys free kick was shocking

Just watched Wookies Carlton only highlights. What a pleasure it was. You're a champ.

So much to like.

How good are SPS' hands?

Great to see/hear that Murph bounced back and had a good game.

Charlie continuing to blossom.

Williamson :smoking:

Simmo.

Weiters.

Can't wait to watch the full game.

Fantastic wasn't it. So un-us like.
Also heard Wright on the radio say Silvagni(Alex) knocks players over at training.
Standards.

I heard 3 player interviews with different players on different stations, and they all mentioned this. Obviously it's been pretty significant to the rest of the playing group. Not sure how many games he's going to play, but that's got to good for the training culture.

one interesting observation... I thought Rowe had (another) pretty good game and noticed that up until Sat night he was the only player in all the games to that point who had 100% game time. Every other player in all teams had at least one rest.

SPS soft hands into space are brilliant.
Thought Murphy was great
Curnow starting to click
Williamson, Fisher doing enough.
Smedts surprisingly useful. If he can keep his performance in that range each week he will carve out a career.
Casboult played like a forward who understood space and creating it.

Well said.

I look forward to bringing that up with Swans supporters at footy training tonight.

I remember when I allowed my son to avoid drawing the Goode's #37 on his arm as a show of respect, as my son totally understood why Shane Warne made those comments about Goodes' staging, and the booing from spectators was not racist.

A young aboriginal boy who I coach told me that showed no respect. I explained it has nothing to do with aboroginality from our perspective. We chose not to get caught up in that Swans mania/ hysteria. His father is a barrister and a really top fella. I get on well with him and they've had dinner of at ours. I look forward to seeing him tonight.
