Don't want to be too picky but didnt Rohan Welsh wear 38 for 4 of those seasons, and then change to #3 for a change of luck before being delisted? Or was it the other way around?

Actually, I do want to be picky.

Too right, looks like someone stole his HotWheels.

So Saddo didn't get the #43 he requested, maybe he can ask for it when it becomes available.

Now I'm thinking Alan Edwards wore 17 at Richmond?

I've got no clue really.

37 - Jake Edwards (IMO should've been given No.16)

The 16 can't be used for a year cause Campo played in the 95' premiership side. I would like to see Edwards keep that 37, I have always had a soft spot for that number probably cause I use to wear that number as a junior

Edwards will be too tuff for #16 - Harmes number is more suitable

Nah, the look will be old Hat by then! The Hawkers will have gotten wise to it after having been flogged by MM's 40 possies in the 2008 GF!!!

Josh's famous No. 5

CARLTON, too, was in numbers mode yesterday and, as expected, honoured its No. 1 pick, Marc Murphy, with Mike Fitzpatrick's No. 3, but the highlight of the Blues' announcement was that No. 5, which has not been used since Andrew McKay retired in 2003, has been brought out of mothballs and will adorn the back of its No. 2 draft choice Josh Kennedy. Five is prestigious at Optus Oval. Besides McKay, it was also worn with distinction by two of the Blues' greats, Ken Sheldon and Syd Jackson. Other Carlton number allocations included Jason Saddington, who gets No. 9, Dylan McLaren gets No. 10, Paul Bower gets Glen Bowyer's No. 18, Jake Edwards will wear No. 37, Ryan Jackson No. 38 and Craig Flint gets Robert Walls' famous No. 42. Interestingly, Scott Camporeale's No. 16 made famous by him and Jim Buckley has not been allocated.

And Murphy's wearing his old Coach's number. 8)

Must have been thinking of his Melbourne days. :garthp:

Don't know why some players need to change their number like Medhurst and Hunt have done in that article, or like Sheedy does every bloody year... :garthp:

They didn't come too much tougher than Jimmy Buckley when he wore the #16.

A boring paragraph but I'll share it with you anyway. 8)

Just like Judd's
MARC Murphy is now the proud owner of the No. 3 Carlton guernsey made famous by Mike Fitzpatrick but from what we hear, it was not necessarily because of big Fitz that the youngster was eager to get it. Not only was it also worn by Blues 1990s player Rohan Welsh, who coached Murphy at the Oakleigh Chargers, but the biggest attraction of them all has to do with the youngster's idol — the 2004 Brownlow Medallist (and West Coast's No. 3) Chris Judd
