What a slight this thread is.

Don't know if it has been mentioned in the 7 pages preceding this one... as i haven't read them all, but I thought whilst you are mentioning good writers - someone should also mention Garrie Hutchinson.

Someone mentioned Flanagan before - agree with that... but Garrie Hutchinson with his book From The Outer had one of the best collection of evocative football stories that I have seen. Full marks to him and Jim Main as well. (even if Main isn't that fond of the Carlton footy club)

I know Canterbury Bulldogs banned Rebecca Wilson from anything to do with their club because she kept making up bullshit rumours.

Canterbury basically blacklisted any journo who wasn't scared of their blokey intimidation tactics (Debbie Spillane = digrace), and who dared to name names involved with rape allegations, or mentioning salary cap cheating, etc.

Canterbury always have been, and always will be cheats of the lowest order, and 99% of the administration of the club, and players are a disgrace to players like the Mortimer brothers.

Yes....Jim Main is a fanatical "South Melbourne" supporter first and Swans follower second.

The guy who writes for the club website? He is a real football writer?

I actually didn't mind Mike Sheahan when he used to break stories. Once he started writing his "opinion" pieces it all went to the pack.
