I’m not wasting another year ie 2022 if they don’t improve significantly in the last 10 games he is gone simple as that and by significantly improve by winning winning ugly and winning by stopping the opposition kicking multiple goals easily and frequently
What on earth was he doing over the summer
Don’t reckon he has the tools to do it DO Not go into 2022 with this coaching group with the head coach possibly the worst in the AFL

Beyond disappointing soul destroying for all our fans

I actually think Teague spoke really well in the presser.
Honest no rhetoric politically correct bullshit
He needs to put that into practice and dropped the serial offenders who arnt strong enough in the contest
That’s why he was at ground level yesterday

David ..... Total commitment, never say die attitude, full on attacking pressure and most importantly - Winning
Watch the last 15 minutes of Richmond's game vs Essendon*. You, your assistants and the players will learn something. In Crawf's words ... "That's what I'm talking about"

If this post doesn't ring alarm bells around the club, nothing will.
I have read all your posts Frank even going back to TBV. I don't post a hell of a lot, but have thorougly enjoyed reading all your posts in particular.
I loved and admired your optimism, your dedication when you'd go to training sessions and write up reports. You are a ripper.
For you to say you are not wasting another year is a massive statement.
I sure as hell don't blame you. I've been a member for 30+ years (probably not as long as you). I did jump off for your one season when we lost the final game of the season to an Essendon** team that finished last and had most of their list serving drug suspensions. My thoughts at the time were if the playing and coaching group are taking the piss, why should I bother. I jumped back on 12 months later and they have done nothing but continue to take the piss.

It is almost as if Teague is being deliberately counterintuitive by trying to teach this team to attack first & then the defensive side will fall into place later.

Interesting comments from many. Reminds me of similar comments back when Ratten was coach. In particular the lack of a defensive side to the game plan. I think history shows he was moved on too early and look what happened immediately following. I would prefer to stick with Teague this season and next as in reality with all the interruptions with Covid he has not had a clear run. However I do think the assistants need to be looked at closely.
Patience is my current mojo - or trying to at least!

I'm all ears.

I have Navy Blue Glasses on and can't begin to consider Buckley or Clarkson.
I'm not rational enough for these decisions.

But I'm interested.

I suppose he has taken a team to within 1 kick to a Flag.
With our list, a good coach could get more out of them than Teague is imo.

At least with Buckley he'll make kicking efficiency a priority.

All I'll add to this discussion is that I've been happy to give Teague a chance into next year if we replace his support staff.

BUT - if the rumour is true that HE was the one who insisted on keeping the same group at the end of last year when we could've started fresh, the outlook changes entirely.

Well he said he was more than happy with the Assistants.

He also said they did most of the heavy lifting when he was interim coach, and all teague did was let them play "freely" and to "enjoy" their footy.

Hey carna, Teague had all of Spring, ALL summer and early autumn to fix the gaps we could all see in 2020.
5 months (with only Charlie on the sidelines, and players training as a group). So did Russell.

What happened? Still got too many players who can't compete 4 quarters. Skinny players who can't lay or break a tackle. West Coast players with less than 10 games could and did.

We haven't got a plan to get the ball to the forwardline without bombing it, and defensively we still leak goals.

If (big if) Teague gets the sakc, it is non-negotiable that whoever replaces him is given full freedom to bring in their own support team.

You are assuming Teague wasn't.

Maybe he was and this was his dream team plus Longmuir who unfortunately got the Freo gig at the wrong time for us.

That's my point.

Whoever comes in cannot be hamstrung by commitments to any of these people, and should be able to oversee a full cleanout if they wish.

NO to Lyon thanks. I don’t think the Carlton respects campaign would benefit from having a coach with a history of assaulting women!

Can’t compare the Ratten situation. He improved the team year on year, made finals 3 years in a row, and was a kick or two off a preliminary final. He then had one ordinary season where we had plenty of injuries and still only just missed finals. We can only dream of those kinds of results under Teague. If he’d had a similar start to his career I’d be all for giving him a chance to fix a bad year. The reality is I can’t see one argument for Teague outside his first half season

Will Carlton supporters ever learn? Still thinking we have a viable list and it must be the coach. I am not saying Teague is the man going forward but this is clearly a club issue. Has been for 20 years.

Change the losing culture and good things tend to happen. Better recruiting, better player development, better game development, better coaches, better defensive structures etc etc

Some supporters still believed we could make finals before yesterday’s game. The only good thing about yesterday is that reality has finally set in and the club may start making decisions for the longer term good. Instead of this idea that we are on track to win the premiership in 2023.

If we do replace Teague, I look forward to the announcement of a panel consisting of Juddy, the bloke from Egon Zender, and Mark Maclure.

Oh, there'll need to be a woman too. Maybe Bec instead of Chris.
