I'd rather have wins. It just feels better.

Our percentage is a good indicator of where we are at....and we've seen holes even in our wins.

Carlton are seriously shit at communicating injury news to supporters. Reports after the game stated that both Harry & Pitto would be sent in for scans Monday. I understand that yesterday was a PH but surely AFL clubs can access these scans on such days.

One thing is certain - whatever they say tonight will be vague and non-committal. I expect that both will be "test" at best and that niether will play.

Agree, & the injury update page on the club site is garbage.

I think a lot of our comms have improved over the last 10 years but injury news isn't one of them.

Agree.
Disrespectful, and deceitful.

I want to know one way or another

Collingwood finished playing at 5pm yesterday, and by midday today they informed their members and supporters

Quote:
Brodie Grundy could be sidelined for up to three months with a serious knee injury.

Collingwood was this morning bracing to be without the star ruckman for 10-12 weeks as he underwent scans for PCL damage.

Sources this morning said Grundy had suffered a Grade 3 PCL strain after clashing knees with Sam Draper.

The injury enhances his Grundy’s lionhearted last quarter at the MCG. He admitted he was sore after the final siren, but was also optimistic he’d escaped significant injury.

“(It’s) pretty sore, he jumps in hard, Drapes, so he made me earn it. I should be fine, absolutely,” Grundy told Fox Footy.

It’s a shattering blow for the Pies and for Grundy, who showed promising signs of life on Anzac Day with 16 disposals, 33 hitouts and some big plays under duress in the last quarter.

Grundy copped the knock to the knee in the third quarter against the Bombers, but was able to soldier on as Collingwood dug-in to hold off their arch-rival.

His absence now puts enormous responsibility on out-of-contract big man Darcy Cameron, who will have to step up to assume the No.1 ruck role.

Mason Cox could also be set for recall as a result.

Grundy’s injury comes with Nathan Kreuger facing season-ending surgery on a dislocated shoulder.

Again, just about to post that.
Concerning it was knee to knee contact much like Pitto.
Hope Pitto isn't out for 10-12 weeks

Even just "Player X will have scans today and we expect to know more by tomorrow" or something would be better than nothing.

I agree that the Pitto injury could be a real issue for us but as much as Voss said it looked like a "Corked knee" (Has anyone heard of that?), I don't think it was standard PCL either.
IMHO, (*puts on his Jimmae voice*) the PCL injury is more when the ruck mans lower leg takes the force and it moves the tibia/fibula back from the knee joint. Grundy's looked like a classic example.
I'd have to go back to look at Pinto's injury but it looked more knee on knee from memory.

Mind you, my memory is pretty shit these days so anythings possible.

I hope you are right but it looked like a classic PCL to me (I am not medical or physio or anything but I did wince when they showed the replay).
I also note that McKay has pushed through on-field injuries during games a few times now (knee, shoulder) and putting his hand up when under injury duress too. So kudos for that.

This knee is corked. The knee has reacted with the cork.

Are we talking trauma caused through significant vibration?

If reports are true an Pittonet has a long term PCL - Goldstein is going to have a picnic this week.

And we’re going to have to find a short term mature ruck replacement in the mid-season draft.

“Sources confirmed”… not exactly the club.

Tomorrow’s news will probably run with “Collingwood fans received some positive news today with Craig McRae confirming that Star ruckman, Brodie Grundy, will only miss 1-2 weeks with a corked knee.”

Unless the news comes with a name attached, they’re no more in-the-know than we are.
