Campos behaviour is the attitude that alot of ourt senior players have had for a decade and a bit.
He studied Braddley pretty closely.. (with negotiations)

Funny how mo other club had a Dave Allison .. did they?????

He had a stable of Carlton players and noone else....

Its a mentality we MUST shed if we want to be succesful again...

Perhaps you should email your groundbreaking opinions to the club instead of paying out on club legends (not Campo) and other Bluesfans.

Whilst Braddles was a great player. He was always Craig Bradley first and Carlton second.

For that reason i dont rate him up with Sticks or SOS, in terms of his conribution to Carlton.

Not to mention those brown paper bags and then opening his big trap!!
To this day I still can't work out why our club legends just couldn't follow the lead set by Fraser Brown

Hey!

Debate over how these players "treated" our club...and how our club "treated" them...just watch how you do it...you are not kids stuck in the school playground...

There are facts...and then the interpretation of these facts...but don't get into bitch fights with each other or I'll have the lot of you over to a moderators barbeque..and you will be the first course!

I guess only the people directly involved in all the discussions know all the facts. We can only speculate. Though it's probably a fair observation to suggest that most players of that era were taught the rules of negotiation the Jack Elliott way. They probably mimicked Big Jack in many ways so it's no surprise to me that very few of them were able to adapt to the new environment. I must say though, that Fraser Brown came out of the whole mess looking better than SOS, Bradley and others. At least he stood his ground, didn't blink and didn't squeal. If you go into the game of accepting cash outside the rules of the game, you shouldn't blink the minute the prosecutor stares at you. Brown played it smooth all the way. He was into it up to his neck but never admitted a thing. Smart boy because as he proved in the end, they had very little evidence that could stand up in a court of law. It was mostly bluff by the AFL, nothing more nothing less. The AFL relied on some of the insiders turning over to ram home the case. Bottom line is, Bradley and SOS did and Brown did not. End of story.

How quickly we forget

Keep your blind faith NBH.
A good friend of mine is a close business associate of Bradleys.
The feedback I recieve about the club and those involved is disgraceful.
Bradley gave a lot to the Carlton Football Club but he recieved a lot in return.

Dont assume I've forgotten Bradleys contribution to the club.
People dont earn lifelong respect by wearing a football jumper.
They have to be judged on their actions as well.

Just like real life...the conversations rarely stay on topic.

Have we had any confirmation about the Essendon* appointment yet?

Just because someone played 375 games of football for our club, doesn't mean they are above criticism.

Reality says that Bradley extracted every last dollar out of Carlton, but at the same time gave great service and professionalism on the field.

Regardless of his relationship with Pagan or anyone else, the way he left the club was disgraceful, and for that reason I'll never view him with the same affection as our other champions.

If you are being consistent you have to include Craig Bradley along with Campo as one of the opulent group of players who did very well out of the club for a very long time but dissapointed at the end of their career by maybe not giving back to the club with his demands for large contract fees and I think BV and others have a valid point.
If you are going to point the finger at Campo, Kouta, Lance etc then you have to be consistent and that means covering all players inlcuding Blue Chippers like Craig Bradley. I thought he was a wonderful player, very professional, very fit but at the same time he was a pro sportsman and very mercenary at contract time and put himself first which I guess you can understand...he was a hired gun and conducted business as such , you knew what you were getting....the clubman factor wouldnt be high on his list of priorities at contract time.

Was never Captain material....and never that comfortable in the spotlight...hard to get an autograph off him as well and he didnt hang around long after games etc....I think he viewed himself as elite and above a lot of the PR stuff although a friend of mine ran across him down at the golf course and found him very willing to talk Golf rather than football...sad to see another Blues legend at a rival club but I guess thats how it goes these days...

I usually respect you posts, but get over It  .

The problem with this club is we idolise remnants that are at least in part responsible for bending us over.
What BV says is right.
If it were up to Braddles he would still be playing for us.. but signing his contract right about now...(a fat contract)
We got done for salary cap rorts two times involving Braddles.

Good player... but was part of why were where were at today.

For the record we have Platten a car to come to us... he never gave it back!!!

I am still waiting for Braddles to sign over at least $1000 to the Carlton Foundation fund. The names of people who have donated are listed in one of the recent Inside Carlton magazines.

Let's see - he earnt at least 300k x 15 years and he can't spare $1000 as a gesture - at least - to give back to the club..

Was very much the prick to me at the Guernsey Presentation night last year when I asked for a picture of Peter Motley, himself and myself. Was pretty rude about the whole thing.

Motts was only to happy to do it.

See.. im only interested in how this club was left by some of the group that came before the current crop of players.
Did they pass the torch on to the kids the same way it was passed to them????

It really irks me to see what has happened to MY CLUB!!!

Exactly.

A great player who helped us win our 15th and 16th flags and smashed Doull's record. :-D

Doesn't deserve to be spoken of in such terms.

Ok so he took and took until there is nothing left to take....

Yes he does!!!!

Any club captain that refuses to train with his teamates till he gets what he wants should never have been club captain...

Doesnt deserve to be spoken in the same breath as Bruce Doull.. Doull played great football and asked for nothing to play for us.

Bradley played great footaball as long as we bent over for him.. age 37.

Both great players.., but only one was a great Carlton clubman.

I think its no surprise were in the shits we are as far as money and loyalty (see Campo) when some of you idolise and condone such behaviour

It kjind of serves us right...

Is this the same Doull that in all honesty spoke more to me in one minute than he has to you in your life.

He abused the living shit out of me as a young teenager, in front of my father becuase I asked for his signature. He was having a smoke at training and I had the rudeness of youth to request a signature. It wasnt one or two words as some may be accustomed to but a hell of a tirade.

After training he appologised and gathered signature from alot of our legends for me. For which he won my respect back forever. But Saint Bruce he aint.

I dont care if Doull made you cry... he didnt bend the club over... and nobody looked at Doull as a role model to bend the club over....

And the lesson is dont interrupt a guy having a quite smoke at training....
