I thorougly enjoyed yesterday's events and it was well worth the drive up and back to Sydanee! Congratulations must go to the Club for a significantly increased focus on the non-traditional footy states!
Speaking to Ian Coutts, the Club is very keen to get to the States more often where Carlton don't normally play, and are a bit upset at the AFL that yet again, we get two games in '06 in the South and the West (unlike, yet again, another older Melb. Club who shall remain grandfinaless..)
- have posted just a few photos at my new blog:

points of interest:
- talked a bit to Stevens about Campo and what it's been like for him playing for the Blues against the Ferrils at FP. He said that he was spat at 5 times in one match, including one bloke, face to face from about 2 metres away! - What a bunch of nice people......
- Marc Murphy - possibly a bit overwhelmed by all the attention on the day and although there's no doubt he's tanlented, SUPPORTERS SHOULD NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH OF HIM!!!! I think it's reasonable that the Club use him for marketing purposes, but I hope they don't over do it!
He's expecting to start off on a forward flank or wing and progress into the Centre at some stage!
It's embarrasing to think I'm over twice his age, but he's 18 only years old and to give you some idea of where he's coming from, yesterday was his first trip to Sydney!
LET HIM EASE INTO IT!
I still say he's got a great attitude and he's a very likeable lad but EASE OFF! Sure he was no. 1 pick, sited as next Cousins or whoever it was but again, the kid's 18, and the pressure really been put on him in terms of expectations, both from within and outside the Club.
No doubt he'll be a legend, and hopefully, for his whole carreer a Carlton legend, but...
Give
Him
Time!
(I'll step off my soap box now!)
Kouta - not entirely impressed I'd have to say - was finding the sun a bit bright when asked by the Daily Telegraph photographer to take his sunnies off for a pic and spent a long time during the official funtion outside, on the phone instead of inside, with the supporters, some of whom had come a bloody long way (whinge, blubber blubber etc) to attend.
Still, when "Couttsie" went through his profile, well, it's not too bad really
Again, a great day and congratulations to the Club, but more so to Adele and friends from the NSW supporters group! It was a brilliant event!
