I was amused at the 'twelve hour' round trip Canberra to Sydney

Must have been on horse and cart to take any longer than seven...

With the new M7 now in place, you can almost get to ANYWHERE in Sydney from Canberra in spot on 3 hours cruising at a comfortable 115km/h (indicated).

I got to Randwick Boys High at exactly 11:00am after leaving Monash (Not quite deepest, darkest Southern ACT) at 7:40am - I was pushing it a bit and the Mrs had a spew upon my return when she noticed that my speed indicator was set at 125klm :)

I took it a bit easier on the way home and a couple of missed turns on the way out of Randwick and passing the SCG right on game time ensured the trip home was a bit slower. A well needed pit stop in Mittagong on the way back actually did extend my day out to a good 10 1/2 hours. If I had of had my thinking hat on, I would have got a leave pass from work and the Minister for war and finance for a stay over so I could have stayed for the Cricket!!! Maybe next time!
