Who are you to tell me who I should like anyway?

Yeah, he had a choice, and he took the huge paypacket, so what's the problem with that ??

Hmmmm, let's weigh it up here, stay at Carlton for 150K per annum or join the Saints for 350K per annum ?? Hardly a difficult decison to arrive at.

And I am me, the teatowel-headed camel-breeding owner of a vast harem of beautiful women and I not telling you who to like or dislike, you make your own decisions big-boy, just like Hamill made his.

Wasn't Marc Murphy offered a much better deal by Brisbane but chose to stay in Melbourne?

I'm pretty sure that's the case.

You're not forced to leave your Club by money.....you CHOOSE to leave.

Horseshit. It's common knowledge that SOS was grossly underpaid during his time at Carlton in comparison to others.

Wild horses couldn't have dragged SOS from royal parade.

Sheik, it is'nt always about money.Talk to the playing list of Brisbane and St Kilda there is no doubt that many in both playing lists have forgone large amounts to remain with the playing group.Big Justin for one was reportedly offered heaps by Carlton and Collingwood several months ago to no avail.

To suggest that everyone has his price does a complete injustice to many, many, Carlton players over the years (pre and post salary cap) who resisted the urge.Have a chat with SOS about what he was paid and the offers rejected, even knowing there were many at the Club who received far more.

As for Hammill you fail to acknowledge that he and his parasite manager indulged themselves in some pretty slimey horse trading. The Swans for one would have an intersting tale to tell.

The fact was that Aaron was not in out top 6, but he expected to be paid as such. The Elliot issue was all smokes and mirrors to divert what was purely a grab for the cash!

I"d be tempted to believe your "$200K" story Sheik; if you showed us a copy of the supposed paperwork.....until then it's all pie in the sky.

I heard that Grant Dodd was offered an extra $200K to cross to Home and Away; but knocked it back 'cos Home and Away hadn't started yet.

It's also common knowledge that he was close to accepting an offer to move to either Richmond or Collingwood (can't remember which) for a vastly increased figure. It forced the Blues to up the ante considerably to keep him. Yes, he did earn less than he could of elsewhere but the family lineage was the emotional blackmail that the club kept using as a tool to keep him there for less than what he should have been getting.

So's the reported amount Carlton offered Kosi, so's everything we hear about player payments. Best of all, none of us will ever see the supposed paperwork so that post of yours is definitely pie-in-the-sky !!

Jimmy Hird is another player who purportedly has taken pay cuts instead of raises to help the Club.

And yes; I know Hirdy is wealthy; as much from shrewd real estate investments as from football per se.

But....I still believe there is loyalty in footy ....perhaps not as we'd like it...but it still exists.

Campo didnt leave for bucks. He left coz he was in an intolerable work situation IE he could not bear to be in the presence of Pagan........you can argue all you like, but it is fact.
The Thing left coz of bucks, pure and simple. If he had come out and said it was an offer too good to refuse, then i could have accepted that, not really but sorta. But throwing it back at Elliot coz he called me names was pure cowardice in my books.A weak gutted copout. The Thing likes to throw his wieght around on the field, but any Carlton player should RELISH the thought of playing on him knowing that if you give as good as you get,The Thing will surely weakeb first.

Elliot was trying to get SOS over the line to Richmond.. they offered him much more than he could have ever received with us... SOS refused...
Richmond offered him a shitload more.. they offered us Richardson and a pick we could have had Pavlic with.

Elliot tried his hardest believing it was in the long term interests of this footy club.

Why didnt he leave last year or the year before??

Why didnt the little slime bag say that he wpould leave during the season instead of having his manager talk about a one team player.. and that the two parties would come to an agreement???

Ratboy is a ratboy and there are no ifs or buts.
But im happy he will be one of those players despised by both clubs supporters in general.
His true colours shone through.

No Carlton player no matter how much he hated his coach would wait in the carpark to put on his Essendon* jumper..unless he was RATBOY!!!...

Campo and Hamill, it should be a monty.

Yes, players who have left the Blues under dodgy circumstances do deserve to be treated differently by the supporters. Thankfully we have not had too many of them.

Any chance of whacking Brendan Goddard and Fat Lance in the title as well? We could surpass Warren...

We had to pay SOS in brown paper bags to keep him. You think Hamill didn't know about the extra $$$ his teamates were getting under the table at the time.
