The people who donated and became "Carlton Heroes" in 2003 have been given the opportunity to participate in determining who will be the 2006 inductee to the Carlton Hall of Fame. I got the form in the mail last night listing the options and will send it off this morning and would be interested in who other TC'ers think should get the nod. The nominees are:

I'm surprised Syd Jackson isn't already in the HOF.

Where is the "all of the above" option?

How are you supposed to separate them?

I voted for Syd because it would be great to see his career honored before it's too late.

I'm pretty sure Hanna played 192 games because I'm still pissed that he fell 8 games short of 200 games.

I sent my form back with Syd as my nomination. Some of my earliest memories are of him as a player. A great ambassador for the Carlton Football Club and a trailblazer for indigenous footballers.

Syd for me too. Hard to believe he's not in there already.

Gees it's tough though. Like being told to select your favourite child. They all deserve to be in there!

Choose only one...damn that's hard. Surprised Syd's not in there as well...you'd reckon he'd have to be in this time, no matter how much they all deserve to be.

I have to say I didn't know very much about Syd till last year, then Fox had a run of games where he was at the peak of his powers.... For me (an avowed Mil fanatic) - it was a lay-down to vote for Syd, just off the 6 games I saw....

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the following players elected to the Carlton Hall of Fame this year:

•Jack Hale
•Syd Jackson
•Val Perovic
•Des English
•Mil Hanna
•David Rhys-Jones
•Earl Spalding

And last but not least Alex Marcou - Alex was a teriffic player for Carlton of only very slight build but with extreme pace and huge courage.

Played in 3 Premierships (79, 81 & 82).

Would always be taken off on a stretcher when we played Essendon*, no thanks to snipers like Stephen Carey.

Used to stand with his family in the forward pocket in front of the Robert Heatley Stand.

Alex is one a true gentlemen and still has time for a conversation and says hello whenever you happen to bump into him.

Congratulations Alex.
