We'll be running out with 13 players who have played VFL this year.
If the coaches and players can pull off consecutive wins here, it will be a massive achievement. I'm not feeling overly confident but hopefully our kids show the poise and confidence they did last week. I don't want to see Moir as sub again this week. He showed strong effort as well as X factor last week. We'll need both again in this game. Same with Lord. His clean hands off the deck were great at getting the ball to the outside of stoppages.

The first qtr will be crucial. If we actually kick straight & get out to a lead, the Saints might start to check out. Hopefully.

If they've still got a sniff or a lead at 3q time we'll be in a spot of bother

The Saints have underachieved this year and will be fired up to end their season on a high. There might be some personal motivation to keep us out of the finals too (Lyon, Dow, Stocker). Plus we always seem struggle to beat them at Marvel.

To be honest, if the Saints don’t beat us with the injuries we have then they are in genuine trouble as a footy club.

Assuming McGovern & C.Durdin play (which is no certainty)-

B: Newman Weitering Young
HB: Saad McGovern Cowan
C: Acres Cripps O.Hollands
HF: Motlop Kemp Cincotta
F: Owies Kennedy C.Durdin

R: Pittonet Hewitt Walsh

Inter: Carroll, E.Hollands, Lord, Moir
Sub: Binns

Give Cincotta a defensive forward role to limit their run out of the backline. E.Hollands to play as 7th defender.

It will be one for the ages if we pull this off. What I really don’t like hearing is “we will win because Cripps” - sorry but that ‘messiah’ thinking is what has kept us down for decades. If we win, it will be because everyone plays their role to near the best of their ability and we take our chances when they come. No early injuries would be handy too.

yeah 100%.

team first mentality got us the win over the weagles. and it has to be the same from here out. our season is only living for as long as the team first ethos is.

Our intercept mark/ 3rd tall is named as IC.

30yo, injury prone Gov is last man standing.
He must have recovered by a fibre of ham string

Young named ahead of Gov.

Say no more.

How can we be confident with 16 players out injured, and 3 injured players selected?
I know Acres can perform for 4 quarters despite one shoulder not 100%.
I hope Durdin and Gov can play for 4 quarters.

Somehow, I'm expecting another miracle win.
Can only happen as a team.
It all starts with Pitto in the middle on Marshall.

Stronger Together

Again, I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

I'd expect Fantasia to come in to replace McGovern, just for his experience.

The Saints are not especially tall up forward to begin with (as named); Sharman is 193cm, Owens is 191, Phillipou is 190, Membrey is 188, Hill 182, Higgins 178... So I'm not too worried if McGovern is an out.

Mind you, the Saints line-up is kinda weird. Hayes and Campbell as emergencies suggests that some of their talls must be under a cloud.

You may be right, but if they stop Cripps we lose. It's that simple.

If it’s that simple then we don’t deserve to make the finals.

If they tag Cripps he should just switch with Kennedy and move to FF. I hope to see some more coaching creativity tomorrow.

Let Kennedy, Hewett and Lord lead us to the finals.

Just bumped into Aaron Hamill at local shops.

Basically said we just have to get through this game, then we can look at getting.....
Martin
Harry
Charlie
DOCHERTY

All back

Hinted that Fantasia will play full game with Moir as sub.
Said Durdin is a risk but what can we do.

Seemed to have belief that if we make it anything is possible.... My interpretation

Looks like it will be a sell out.
No reserved seats left and only standing room tickets available.

Good point, he raised Fantasia when I asked about Moir getting a full game.

Seaview shops? I heard he'd moved into the area.
