like many have said. golden rule of finals. don't take anyone injured or not 100% in. it never works.

I'll be very sceptical that Charlie will be effective if he plays. I am also 100% certain that he will play, so Iguess I'll just have to steel myself.

If those four play I will be wrapped . Risky ? for sure , but no guts , no glory . I mean , this business of having to be one hundred percent fit is BS for mine . Every team will have suspect players . No side is immune from injury doubts . All teams , not just our's have injury and fitness concerns . Roll the dice and have a crack .

oh dear lord.

... there's nothing gutsy or courageous about a guy who can only run in a straight line and will go down without contact.

kemp 100% fit with harry upfront will offer more than charlie on one leg. but this is carlton. we think we can do these things and they won't backfire, bcos no guts no glory

Charles is in better shape than you think . How many players are going into the finals without niggles and injury concerns and are one hundred percent cherry ripe ?

everyone has niggles mate. that's not where the "100%" metric comes from. cripps has a lightly sprained AC joint, watch for him to be grabbing his taped shoulder on saturday night, he did it in the WC game and it's gradually gotten worse. but he's 100% ready to go.

someone with a hammy strain, is not 100% and shouldn't play. Someone like martin who's played 2.5 games all year with soft tissue, probably has about a 15% chance of running out a finals game. so do we risk that? that's all risks, roll the dice and pray to the gods and hope it goes well.

the fact is charlie has syndemosis (2-3month injury) will have to be jabbed to play, that jab will have worn out by midway thru the 3rd. his output at that point will be witches hat status. but more concerning, is the risk of tearing the ligament further, requiring surgey and turning it into a 4-5 months injury, which makes him available to start training again around march next year.

if this is a prelim final or gf, maybe you risk him. but we came 8th, it's an elim final in bris, we're not winning a flag in 2024. i'm not saying put the cue in the rack - we have players like kemp & harry - who can step in and produce more output than charles on one leg; but i'm saying lets not do anything that starts us out 2025 behind the 8-ball.

We agree , everyone has niggles this time of year . All teams . We are not winning a Flag in " 24 . While we are in it we are a chance . Can't believe such a feisty character like yourself is giving up . So defeatist . Come on Braithy , you got a bit of ticker about you , lets throw everything into this . We are still alive mate and contrary to what a lot believe we are in with a big show against the Lions . The Lions are a good side for sure but not that good .I reckon they are highly gettable . No more talk about " 25 . So meek and timid .

The problem is that Charlie has been poor for the last few months, even before he was out due to injury.

Finals are won primarily due to team effort and pressure and rarely individual brilliance. The ankle injury will definitely restrict his team input capability (chasing and pressure) but perhaps not his individual brilliance.

I’m confident Harry and Kemp will get the job done.

I have a feeling that Charlie won’t play.
I reckon the team already knows this and they’re foxing a bit so Brisbane has to prepare for it.
I think the ins will be Harry, McGovern, and Williams. Not sure about Martin and Doc.

True, at least with coaching comments we have some basis to our opinions. Sort of

Brave call

Suspect that they announced early to take away disappointing news that Charlie will be out
