I feel that the club wanted to avoid the media spotlight for sacking 'another coach'.

The long term damage will be hard to reverse. Not sure why we are letting him coach the season out.

Simpson has already met with senior officials. If he's not picked we are still going through a process of sorts.

So, just to confirm. That is the same Simpson who volunteered this morning that he hasn't spoken to any AFL clubs? Not answering a if he'd spoken to any. Volunteered the information. The same bloke who inferred he'd like another year in the media and currently doesn't have the desire to coach again?

The club hasn't spoken to Adam Simpson OR John Longmire..

I can only promise you that they met with Simpson in Melbourne last week.

Glad to hear we are being pro active.
I don't think many supporters want to hear we are sticking with Voss (and most line coaches).
I heard from someone with a credible source we have met with Horse as well.
Hope it's true.
Unless you are there 1st hand there is always room for doubt.
Ps. Happy Birthday to all the horses out there.

Wright has put his feelers out. No doubt. Whom? no one here knows for sure.
Wrights been in the caper for 3 different clubs and his phone book is full of great contacts.
A big difference between casual call for a chat, as an old mate, to get a feel, as opposed to meeting Club Officials.
Official vs unofficial. Play on words maybe?
Wright hasnt been officially in the job all year, but been at the club.

Last year they decided Russell had to go because of his inability to get players on the park and at the same time we got rid of the players who were injury prone.
Made no sense it was either Russell or the players it should not have been both.

Getting the same vibe this year with Vossy and the players. Either Vossy can't coach or the players can't play.
Can't see the sense in sacking Vossy and blowing up the list at the same time.

For what it's worth the Demons have sacked Goodwin; he won't return Tuesday.

Wonder if that will give the club the impetus to make the call on Voss.

A pumping to the Suns on Saturday would surely do it?

Who would want to go to Melbourne after Goodgear wins a game by 83 pts and still gets the sack.

LOL so we have to keep Voss now, even if it's not the right call, just so we don't appear to be reacting to Melbourne?

You're the one who suggested we should react to Melbourne's actions, Trav. No one else.

The President clearly stated Voss would coach the remainder of the year. If he wants to be seen as someone with no credibility then you may be right. Integrity means sticking with what you say and as he is the spokesperson for the board then sacking Voss only questions the boards integrity.

Feels a bit panicky by the Dees. Perhaps anticipating other coaching changes in a few weeks. Not sure jumping now provides much advantage but it does project panic. Esp with no permanent CEO and new President not yet in place.
I don’t think this would be attractive to an experienced prospective coach (Simpson, Longmire, Buckley, Hinkley…). A first timer might be tempted.
Carlton holding its nerve and making a calm decision at the end of the season would project well in contrast. Not saying Voss should be sacked (I’m happy for him to stay with changes to assistants also prompting a bit of modification to game plan and match day tactical response capability). But if they are planning to sack Voss, don’t do it until after the season.

Probably a rookie coach and they will get rid of Lever, Melksham, even May if they get some currency...go similar to a Richmond rebuild with a stack of draft capital....just an idea.

Whether we like Voss as a person or not. After 4 years, he now needs to be moved on.

We are not the nice guy club. Churn and Churn till we find the right Coach to lead us forward.

Whether he can coach or not, the simple matter is he is not motivating our players. There is unhappiness everywhere.

A fresh coat of paint i say.
