thank-you. I've felt like a lone crusader on this one. blood money, have considered writing to Kindersley about it on more than one occasion.

also that video where the sister and father of a woman (and mother) who was murdered by a man she left was gone from the Blues website in about two days after the Carlton Respects game. couldn't even find it on the Carlton Respects program website, was like the Blues wanted to burry it, it was telling a friend about it who's b.f. was slamming his fists into her windows at 11 PM one night b/c she'd decided to end it due to his alcoholism and other things and couldn't link to it.

The Blues have had to deal with a myriad of issues this season, including only seven wins so far ahead of this week’s clash with Fremantle as well as mounting pressure on coach Michael Voss, an injury crisis which affected the club, and some rumblings of player discontent.

This is just the start.

Now they call it for what it has been since we started the season in round 1 with 13 out injured, "a crisis".

Now we are hearing that Curnow has been playing on one leg all season, yet hasn't been on the injured list, nor managed, when he should have been.

Quote:
Carlton’s season from hell has been further compounded with spearhead Charlie Curnow set to undergo more knee surgery which will bring a premature end to his 2025 campaign.

It’s a bitter blow for the Blues who had been keen to finish off another frustrating season.... Curnow, 28, will have “a necessary clean-up” of his knee after experiencing ...

This week we go into the game with 14 missing. Good luck Vossy. I hope the kids can apply execute the game plan.

I hope some posters can see that injury has been an obvious problem for us like it was last year, if not worse this year.

I also think there's a problem with the fitness and strength of our players this year, more than Andrew Russell days.
So much for Stength and Power condidtioning we were all conditioned to believe.

I will give some credit to Voss here. He has not used injuries as an excuse this year, even though we can.
All we hear from Brad Scott is about how many injured players they have out and the media ran with it too.
It is only recently that it has been highlighted how badly we have been affected.

Brisbane also has had about 7 players out with season ending injuries, but they're lesser lights than Newman, JSOS, Jagga, Walsh, (Curnow), Kemp et al. (in no particular order and probably missing a couple).

CARL in 2025 have become the first @AFL side this century to concede the opening goal of the second half 20 times in the one season

What a flower of a season. Absolute disaster.

So far from truly contending. Miles and miles off it. Perennially pretenders.

Got so little joy.

Club is at a massive crossroad. Hope they know it.

Had some terrible losses this season & the end couldn't come quick enough.

But. Can't recall a season where I've seen more good signs from first & second year players in one hit.

Feeling pretty good about 2026 already

Winning the last two games will do that for you . Nice what the young blokes have done but as good as it is they must take the next step . Potential is everywhere .

We broke a hoodoo last night. Sad that we don’t have next week. Sad that TDK is going and most likely JSOS. Loved you in navy blue but @#$%&! off until your sons are eligible for FS and nominate Carlton.

It matters little what we think..
It matters more what Graeme Wright thinks!

FWIW, I think the writing was on the wall from the first match. We took our foot off the gas against the Tigers and that set the scene for the season. Easily satisfied, not desperate or ruthless enough. Lack of teamwork, players trying to do too much time selves with the ball and not enough work without the ball (especially multiple leads and dummy leads ahead of the ball).

I feel like if we had gone on with it against the Tigers and banked a 50pt+ win, as we were on track for earlier in the game, we would have put up more of a fight against the Hawks and probably would have had the confidence and momentum to beat the Dogs too. Woulda, coulda, shoulda…

I just hope we have learned the lesson finally. Must go into next season with a stronger mindset, be more ruthless on and off the field. A bit like the transition the Lions have made. And this includes a ruthless interrogation of the game plan. I think there is a lot right with our game plan and but some glaring gaps. The challenge will be to add the layers without detracting from our strengths and without making things too complicated for the players. I think some of the better teams, like Collingwood and Hawthorn, have players with very high footy IQ….

I’m not at all worried about losing TDK. The game is littered with examples of high profile players leaving and then the team they left performs just as well or even better. Even if Charlie goes, I won’t throw my toys out, provided we get appropriate compensation which we could turn into picks and players. Although, I’d prefer he stays.

We need a few new assistants (I would love to get Hickmott and, for some reason, I think Matthew Lloyd would be great although I doubt he would come). And we need to round out our game plan, rather than throw it out completely. And we need a few better players, again, rather than throwing it all out and starting again.

I’m optimistic for next season but that depends on Graeme Wright getting it right, and everyone adjusting their mindset. (I don’t mean we should have a ‘Nathan Buckley leading his team out for the 2003 GF’ mindset, more. Like a Michael Voss finals mindset…).

Bring on 2026!!!

One thing is for sure, the club asks a helluva lot from its members and supporters.

Endured too much for basically nothing.

I agree Mick. I always come back. Unless, the AFL change the F/S rule next year. If we missed out on Cody Walker, that's corruption, incompetence and manipulation I couldn't walk past. That would be the end for me.

Honestly, I was just thinking that myself.

I think I'd be done, as terrible as that sounds.

Story on AFL website yesterday that AFL House are pushing to rule out top 5 picks from F/S eligibility. Yeah now that Brisbane have filled their boots with gold we better stop F/S before Carlton get a Round 1 pick under F/S. You can't make this sh!t up!
