Carlton small forward Corey Durdin has expressed a desire to return home to South Australia. Still a bit to play out, given he's contracted for 2026, but it's on the cards and Port Adelaide is an option. @AFLcomau
@traderadio
Durdin straight swap for butters

I can't believe they think Carlton's list managers are going to fall for the same stupid trick they pulled on GWS when they got Jeremy Cameron.

So 3 first round picks!! wowooowee!. Read the small print...pick 17, 19 and probably another next year around that too.

Let's revisit the GWS/Cameron robbery.

GWS got Conor Stone...he's played 5 games in 2021, 1 in 2022, 3 in 2023 etc... his stats are below average in kicks etc.
Oh but GWS didn't completely miss out!
They also got ...wait for it....Ryan Angwin!
He played 10 games this year, 4 last year...and he also is below average in most stats.

Jeremy Cameron's been selected in 3 All-Australian teams, Coleman medallist etc... one of the top 5 players in the league.

If Carlton do this trade, actually any trade with Geelong, featuring Curnow, that's it for me. I'm off the bus. I'm out. I won't renew my membership. It is beyond stupid to deal with this club. And Carlton doesn't even HAVE to play ball, whilst GWS was in a tougher situation with him being a free agent. Not forgivable if they do Curnow for 3 picks around pick 20.

stay chill. we have enough wise heads at the club to know BS when it’s dished up. New footy manager just told Geelong, via the media just to run it in, they are embarrassing themselves with such pretentious posturing. nobody is falling for it and we aren’t obliged to give them the time of day, let alone a dual Coleman medalist for a bag of glass beads.

just reading the blurb about Ainsworth.

I read enough when they said he played 24 of 25 games for the Suns this year .. kicking a goal a game.

Already more games that we would have gotten out of Durdin, Motlop and Fantasia combined!!

The same Motlop who played 23 of 23 in '25?

Rowbottom to Gold Coast seems to be the rumour if he is too leave, possibly tied up in a relegation club deal with ourselves and Sydney.

Score Card thus far...........

In Ainsworth (27yrs) (previous pick 4) + 67
Out Durds + 2nd Rd 2026)

In Chesser (22yrs) (previous pick 14)
Out Pick 41

In Reidy (25yrs) (previous pick 13 in Rookie Draft) + 71 + 53
Out 50 + 68

So far so good. All win, wins IMHO.

Gains - Good 1st/2nd ruck option. Improved leg speed and foot skills with Ainsworth and Chesser. Seasoned AFL so can play in 2026.

Keep up the Grand work Recruiters.

As of 10/10/25

Carlton: 10, 22, 54, 67, 72

Regards Cazzesman

Yes we gained a ruck, a small forward and a speedy mid. Great progress!

Yep, they are doing what should've been done last year, but better late than never and I hope we are this ruthless every year moving forward.
The club comes first.

Get the deals done for Khamis & some points.
Re-sign McGovern, Charleson, White & F.Young
Promote O’Keeffe
Draft Dean & Ison
Delete Elijah

Or… trade Curnow & enter the multiverse.

Ainsworth is a far better player than Durdin- Motlop & Fogarty Combined.

So its a good trade, however with him getting picked, I don't think we can now accomodate Hayward from the Swans. They are similar players.

I think for Carlton for let Charlie go to Sydney, we will accept nothing short of a Heeney/Goulden Class!

I heard that Dean is a Gun Player.... what are we waiting for? :screwy:

I think we are waiting for the draft, and for him to actually nominate us which I don’t believe he has made official.

add to the sentiment

im really liking what we are doing this trade period.

in: J. Smith, N.Newman, Dean, Reidy, Ainwsworth, Chesser, Buku
Out : TDK, Silvangi, Curnow

7 players in, all of which are in our starting 22 making us better (hopefully). Curnow is a loss but im hoping it the sums of parts that make it better

Im quietly hoping that Hollands comes good, because he is an elite footballer, but i fully support the clubs decision with this one.

We are going to be a different side next year. Felt we didn't do enough in 24 Trade, we didn't improve as a side, if anything with injuries to Newman and Jagga, we went backwards, whilst everyone else run past us (and ladder position) suggested the same.

Not this year, seems to be we are improving our balance, squad and overall quality.

it is goign to suck to watch Curnow play in a Sydney jumper though.

I dont think Ainsworth and Hayward are similar at all.

Ainsworth is a small forward and Hayward is a medium zippy type - like Lappin. We hadnt had his type since he left.

I think they can both compliment eachother. And create unpredictability.

As much as we love McKay and Curnow together, they hardly played together and they ran into each others space. I would say they played better on their own as the target.

We are low in keeping the ball into our forward 50. By having these small and medium types with Harry, i think we could be better.

But i do think we need a young KPP thats good to develop which is why i would like Logan McDonald in the deal.

I like your positivity Scotty but I'll believe it when I see it.

Chesser's always injured & West Coast fans are asking if we'll take Owies back also while we're at it

Buku couldn't get a game in defence for the Dogs when they were screaming out for defenders

Reidy's 25 & played 3 games

I don't even know why GC are getting rid of ainsworth for pick 29

Let's hope we get some monster trade for Charlie & get something to be excited about.

Same here, CK... definitely taking 3 steps back

We're just replacing players atm... time will tell if/how they make us better.

My take is that the club are addressing some of the issues in terms of mid/forward connection and ruck depth, but the concern I have is that the mids/small forwards won't necessarily have great options to kick to! Along with that is concern around the 2nd key defender spot (E Phillips/Blight?)

I have concerns about McKay not having the competitiveness/fight that you need to bring the ball to ground in a 1 v 2 or 1 v 3 situation. Kemp is coming off a torn achilles. HOK is a kid.

Ideally Curnow stays, has an uninterrupted pre season and the coaching staff can then get to work on ball movement.

Brisbane just won a flag. Look at their forward line.
No gun forward there. Charlie was well down all year.
Don't need guns to win a comp. Logan Morris had a strong year....who picked him to be a premiership key foward at the start of the year? Collingwood won a few years
ago with B and C grade tall towards.
It's all about balance, connections with midfield and team ethos.
I'm happy for Charlie to sulk it up in Sydney if it means he effectively gets us Cody next year by virtue of the new FS rule.
