Sydney would be pretty embarrassed in front of their members if this doesn't get done now, having paraded him through the front door.

Gulden 2 firsts & the opera house, or nothing.

Lets try not to look at this deal in isolation. We already have the TDK and Jack compo. It's what we can achieve with the total sum of picks and players that is crucial. What's achieved out of the Charlie deal wont in all likelihood, be the final landing spot.
I get what you're saying, but at the same time, he's the most valuable asset we're likely to trade in decades. So we need to make sure we take full advantage of it.

I hear what you’re saying BV, but BamBam is on the money. Take a Charlie-sized object out of any environment & the walls can’t help but start folding in to fill the vacuum.

Sydney’s best play is to run down the clock & make their best offer with a ‘now or never’ caveat. So, while there may well be more to come after the Charlie deal, it won’t be players we can cheer on in 2026.

Perfect player to trade and to the perfect club who love a marquee fwd for marketing purposes. I'd hope Carlton are not saying or even hinting at what they want for him other than to say it has to be big.
By now the Swans are in love with the idea of having him and don't want to stuff it up like they did with Joe Daniher.
Blues have to hold out and let the Swans do the work.

Hi Club. Where you been?

100% right. GW hopefully has Swans right where he wants them. Charlie is the shiny new bubble for Xmas that they must have. Last one on the shelf Cocksy. You know you want it, at any cost.

That's the joke part so they can be seen to "give" more when they change it to a pick in the 50's

This is a disrespectful offer.

"Morris reports that the Swans have offered Pick 11, a 2026 first rounder, Ollie Florent & Will Hayward in exchange for Curnow and this year’s Pick 22."

And they can be disrespectful because for the last 20 years the Swans have by and large treated Carlton as road kill bunnies. Geelong and the Swans - I wouldn't deal with either just on principle alone.
Geelong always "trade from a position of strength" said that bloke on Fox last night. Exactly. They are the power club and think teams such as Carlton are beneath them. Time for the pendulum to swing.

Them offering Pick 11 is quite frankly shite. Let's use the 2020 draft as an example. Pick 11 (plus 2-3 picks later due to all the gifts to Gold Coast Academy) turns into pick 14. ...In 2020, that gets you Heath Campbell whoever that is.

They can’t have that either.

Swans 2025 & 2026 1st rounder plus Hayward is fair IMO.
I'm not too bothered about Florent.
But no way we give them back pick #22.

25, 26, 27 firsts Hayward and Campbell

We’ll give them Curnow, Acres and Marchbank.

There’s my counter

Hayward just isn't an A grade player. Why are we trading to clog the list with more average players?
You need star players. Not players who have done jack nothing in their career.

Hayward got 11 possessions and kicked 1 goal in the 2022 GF. Chad Warner...if they offer Chad Warner the deal can be done. Warner will go back to WA next year anyway if the Swans can't trade him now...so it is in their interest to get a deal done.

Honestly, that's less ridiculous than their request to get pick 22 back.

We currently have 31 on the primary list. I believe we’re aiming for 36 - 37 at most.
McGovern, Khamis & Hollands are caught in between. Let’s say Hollands goes, so we’re at 33.
As far as I know, we still have to make three changes via the draft. That brings us to 36.

The Swans proposal is two in, one out. 37 primary on the list.

We have six rookies under contract, to take us up to 43 players in total.
Charleson, White & Young in waiting. One spot up for grabs.

Acres was instrumental in the finals of 2023....for me I will always respect him no matter how much his confidence dropped this year.
He worked super hard in the finals of 2023 and was better than many "star" players.

Mark McGowan in the Age says Sydney haven’t yet made formal offer but first round picks 2025 and 2026 Hayward and Florent likely be part of it
