the entire issue is that as i see it.

we are unbalanced, we dont need another elite A grader, costing us a fortune. We have had that and it got us nowhere.

we need more solid contributors, turning 1 elite (at his best he was elite, but I'm not convinced he is that footballer anymore) into 4 good players, to spread the load, is what this trade is about.

Haywood & Florent are in out starting 22. Turn this year first and TDK Compo into another good player and its another player into out starting 22. 1 player into 3/4 good players, makes us a better side.

Player for player, there are no comparisons, however the sum of parts is what im interested in.

Forget the Pick 22, we keep that for Dean.

Chad Warner was 50/50 on signing with the Swans. He’ll aim to get back to WA or out of Swans at the end of next year. Their list lacks depth in terms & the age profile it isn’t great. Grundy debuted 2013, Rampe 2013.. how many more years out of old war horses?

Quietly, Ive been very concerned with Charlie's knee.
Thought the Swans would find some irregularity after his Medical, but whether they reject him or we refuse to do the deal, I wondered if have we've seen the best of him, which I think was prior to 2023 Finals Campaign.

He has been irregular, since his first injury a few years back, but since that Finals series. I thought he was a flat track bully against the week, and against weak opposition we played well

He's missed a couple years good footy, and was restricted this year. I was sure his body couldn't do what it use to do "Curnolenko" style, hence his on field frustration.
I think he thinks he needs a change. Just start again. Maybe its for the good of both sides: Curnow and Carlton. I'm on Carlton's side.

Turn 2 firsts into a Top 5 draftee, or top player and get Dean with 22, and a pick F1 for 2026. Butters can make up his own mind next year.

I recall the years when 2 x First round picks were GOLD.

Now its 2 x Firsts (one a 2025 top 10 pick) and 2 Good players of need.

We should be happy with that OR, hope Charlie improves and gives us consistency in 2026.

Not all first rounders are equal. Pick 11 will end up at least pick 15. A future first could well be in 20s and essentially a second rounder.

If it was two picks in the top 10, the real top 10 even after all the bullshit academy picks, then it would be a different story.

Florent basically played VFL this season, has the fifth worst disposal (or is it kick?) in the comp and couldn't get a senior game in a team that missed finals by some margin.

Hayward - IMO underwhelming. Knocked us back recently. Does not want to leave Sydney

Asking for Pick 22 back? LMFAO - they are taking the piss - that kills the future first par of this already horrible deal.

Curnow - two-time Coleman medalist - in let's admit it, a team that has (politely putting it) "trouble" with its disposal efficiency etc.

Just imagine for a minute what Curnow's value is to Sydney with the quality of their midfield? He will win the Coleman again - almost guaranteed.

Swans - get real and come back with something that comes close to market value here.

I'd be a little more interested with Campbell, Pick 11 and a future first.

On the flipside - I will be livid if the club folds and accept this current "offer"
